Job Title: Project Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager is required to lead and manage the project team to ensure the attainment of project goals and deliverables/tasks on time and within budget
Qualifications & Experiences
· Minimum Degree in Mechanical / Civil Engineering, preferably with a Masters degree.
· Possess PMP and PE certification
· Min 10-15 years relevant work experience in a similar position in the Subsea offshore Construction industry, with relevant experience in handling multi-million dollar projects (Onshore/Offshore).
· Strong background and hands-on experience with offshore pipeline/platform installation engineering and project execution.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management
· Develop project plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements of the client.
· Ensures planning and execution complies with contractual requirements.
· Perform timely adherence reporting on the progress and ensures performance of the project to the schedule and budget.
· Attends project kick off and general meetings with client.
· Establish and maintains good working relationship with the client.
· Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
· Manages day-to-day operational aspects of the project and scope.
· Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
· Set and enforces project standards and procedures.
· Prepares for Peer reviews, HAZID’s, and Operational Readiness reviews
· Ensures project quality assurance procedures are implemented.
· Review and minimizes company exposure and risk on project.
· Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
· Ensures all and any changes in the scope of work by the client is communicated and informed to the team and/or any affected internal depts.
· Work with the QHSE dept to ensure safety, health, quality and environmental requirements are met throughout contract/project life.
Project Accounting
· Monitors and reports costs and expenses incurred on the project closely on a monthly basis to the Snr Management.
· Responsible for and manages project budget and reviews the cost with the Project team regularly.
· Identify key areas of cost savings and ensures the project team are aware and works on them.
· Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables closely for project.
· Analyzes and reports project profitability, revenue, margins, vessel and personnel utilization regularly with the Senior Management.
· Work closely with internal teams to ensure follow up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
Internal Operations
· Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
· Work closely with internal supporting depts to deliver project goals.
· Approves team members’ time and expense reports in a conscientious and timely manner as per Company policy.
· Reviews the status reports of team members and addresses issues as appropriate.
· Complies with and helps to enforce Company policies and procedures.
People Management
· Responsible for providing coaching to Field/Installation engineers and supervising their work.
· Provide on the job training for all new and junior project members
· Resolves team member conflicts and ensures that everyone works well with each other within the project team.
· Conducts effective performance reviews with project team members and provide guidance to the less experience members through formal channels.
· Provide development opportunity to the Project team and challenge them to improving work performance
Competencies Required
· Strong technical knowledge and understanding of Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Construction processes (eg. offshore pipelay, platform installation, marine works, etc.) in Subsea works.
· Excellent Project Management skills and ability to manage multi-million dollar offshore projects.
· Strong and thorough knowledge of contractual documentation and requirements.
· Sound knowledge in Project Accounting, costing and budgeting and business management.
· Good leadership skills to manage and develop the project team.
· Strong written and spoken communication skills
· Hands-on but able to delegate duties effectively.
· Strong negotiation, interpersonal and persuasion skills to interact with internal and external parties.
· Strong client management skills
· Able to manage stress and work fast in a fast paced environment
· Able to work offshore/travel on a short notice basis as and when required.
· Proficient in Primavera, MS Project & AutoCAD software applications
