Job Title: Construction Manager
Location: Lagos
Job Description
Operational/Tech/Professional Results: 

• Identify and develop projects
• Prepare development plans for prospective projects
• Manage construction site
• Procurement of all necessary permits, approvals and licenses for construction site
• Prepare work programmes, work method statements and quality & safety management plans
• Harmonize all working drawing and ensure full implementation of working drawings on site
• Preparation of site and coordination of other construction professionals involved in the project.

Innovation:

• Development of construction manual (policies, processes & methodologies) to be used in all construction sites
• Research and propose alternate building solutions

Leadership: 

• Communicating relevant information
• To create an atmosphere where good team spirit exists between colleagues and subcontractors across all sites
• Lead, mentor and supervise the construction team in line with the company’s organisational goals

Relationship: 

• Provide access to existing database of construction teams including but not limited to quality subcontractors, suppliers and skilled labour
• Leveraging on existing relationships to introduce clients to the company
• Ability to maintain high level relationships with project stake holders
• Liaising with local approving authorities for procurement of statutory approvals and smooth running of project sites

Requirements 

• Excellent communications skills, critical thinking and problemsolving skills
• Excellent time and project management Skills
• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with multiple, concurrent projects and aggressive deadlines
• B.Sc./M.Sc. in a related field precisely Architecture, Building, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering
• Being a corporate member of NIOB, NIQS OR NSE and be registered with CORBON, QSRBN or COREN at a chartered level will be an added advantage
• Minimum of 5 years of Post Qualification Experience with expert knowledge on building products, construction details, relevant rules/ regulations and quality standards
• Exceptional problem solving, organizational, and time management skills with high level of attention to detail
• Negotiation of full contract terms with subcontractors and vendors
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be computer literate and proficient with the use of Microsoft Office.
