Role Summary
- The Lean Manager is an operations and change management leader fully responsible for the deployment of the Global Lean Transformation Program across the Lagos Plant.
Responsibilities
Learn and develop the Lean transformation plan to address the following elements:
- Objectives and targets setting in relation to zero-loss initiatives
- Resource selection and allocation for Lean initiatives deployment
- Transformation roadmap for the plant including planning and scheduling.
- Communication to regional operational leaders, local managers and Global Lean office
Lead the transformation of the plant including:
- Leading plant diagnostics and quantifying opportunities
- Provide pillar support and ensuring that all pillars follow the defined path
- Leading site implementations across Operations Systems (e.g. technical improvements), Management Infrastructure (e.g. key performance indicator development), and Mindsets, Behaviors, and Capabilities (e.g. culture change)
- Ensuring sustainability by establishing operational standards
- Supporting continuous plant improvement through the Improvement Ideas system
Develop, own and build the Lean capabilities of the plant staff including:
- Developing and deploying a robust Lean training program in support of APT’s and Pillars
- Acting as a coach and mentor to employees and operations leadership in the plant
- Leading by example in Pillar and APT deployment
Deliver results:
- Learn what makes a successful lean transformation and work towards achieving the lean targets
- Deliver on planned Lean transformation activities including 5S, APT, KE, Loss Teams, etc.
- Successful transformation of the plant operations to include increased safety, quality, productivity and efficiency
Position Requirements
- Passion for the transformation – Passion for driving change and delivering results
- Technical abilities and analytical skills – An exceptional ability to analyze and creatively solve problems
- Lean knowledge – mastery of the lean and/or TPM principles, the Pillar structure and the transformation approach across Operating Systems, Management Infrastructure, and Mindset, Behaviors and Capabilities
- Leadership and management skills – Strong leadership, people skills and communication abilities essential for successful and sustainable change management
- Adaptability – Ability to integrate into a new working environment/role with ease. Ability to harness the right support and is seen as a valuable resource by personnel in each site
- Impact focus – Relentless drive to eliminate system waste
- Influencing – Able to interact and help Management/Production employees to see the need for change, be change agents, and to act on the change
- Education and experience – Bachelor Degree preferably in Engineering and/or demonstrated performance in the above-stated skills.
