Job Title: Senior Regional Business Development Manager – Africa

Reference: 0104-SRBDM A

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, managing and closing business opportunities in the Africa region. The ideal candidate must be able to directly influence and close deals with regional leading mobile operators.

Whilst we prefer the successful candidate to be based out of Kenya or Nigeria, we are flexible and willing to explore other strategic countries within the region.


Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability:

Responsible from lead generation to client closure including identifying, developing, managing business opportunities in the region.
Possess and develop a high-level network of executives in the telecoms sector, have sound knowledge of the regional market culture and industry trends, and competitors.
Possess knowledge of the A2P landscape, understand the value of ‘complex sales’ and be able to sell across every level to a diverse client base.
Play a key role in constructing harnessing the ‘go-to-market’ strategies with demonstrable experience of direct and indirect selling including qualifying and funnelling of the opportunities.
Maintain and update the company CRM with a high degree of accuracy and frequency.
Skills and specific knowledge:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong commercial and sales acumen.
Sound technical A2P understanding would be a distinct advantage.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience selling services to telecom carriers, mobile operators and enterprise based clients is mandatory.
An understanding of the A2P regulation in the various countries in the region will be a distinct advantage.
Highly motivated with excellent closing skills, territory management, prospecting skills, negotiation, presentation skills and client relationships skills.
Must have high-level contacts within targeted telecom and mobile operators and service providers in the region.
