Summary of Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of accounting records for the snacks category.
- Prompt and accurate rendition of financial and management information and provision of support for the snacks category through preparation of value adding business information and analysis of financial and non-financial data.
- Ensure adherence to financial and non-financial controls and procedures established by management in respect of inventory and risk management.
Main Functions
- Implement and monitor financial controls in respect of expenses, materials procurement and utilization as it affects snacks category.
- Responsible for the development then preparation of management accounts and finance reports within the agreed timescale.
- Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly management reports for use by senior management.
- Preparation of annual estimates (budget) and long term plan.
- Monitor compliance with approved annual estimates (budget) and long term plan.
- Responsible for reporting snacks category business performance, compare with budget (annual estimates), report and investigate variances.
- Setting up and maintaining departmental/cost centre reporting systems.
- Involved in designing and implementation of process documentation.
- Evaluation of new capital projects using all relevant parameters.
- Preparation of profitability statements and cost – benefit analysis of alternate input mix for all product categories.
- Process the sales and stock information (document) to generate relevant reports which form part of the division’s monthly financial accounts.
- Evaluate stock take to ascertain difference between physical quantity and book value of stocks, investigation of differences between accounts and physical.
- Quarterly assessment and review of stocks and stock impairment provisions to determine their adequacy in line with IFRS.
- Responsible for management of snacks data base on SAP (creation and blocking of ledgers and accounts).
- Review and release of Purchase Order (PO) for snacks category on SAP.
- Product costing and preparation of material or transfer prices for snacks category and costing run on SAP.
- Preparation of monthly brand income statement for management use.
- Signing of pay slips and cheques for snacks category
- Follow up and resolve audit comments and implement workable suggestion.
Requirements
- BSc/HND in Accounting, Statistics or a relevant discipline
- Professional accounting qualification such as Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA)
- 7 – 8 years’ post qualification experience.
- Experience in the food production, beverages or FMCG industry is key
- A Master Degree in any management course will be an added advantage.

Position/Program Requirements
- Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 6
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other business field of study, including an acceptable NASBA foreign education equivalent.
- Certification(s) Required: Passed either ACA or AACA Exam or the equivalent accounting or finance certification exam in the selected individual’s home country.
Knowledge Preferred:
- Participate as an individual contributor and a team member with senior CMAAS practitioners & other professionals (e.g. bankers, lawyers, auditors, advisors) on complex financial reporting and regulatory matters related to deals & other transformational events on a daily basis in areas of focus listed above.
- This includes demonstrating an extensive knowledge of and/or a proven record of success in the following areas.
- Advising multi-national, publicly-traded companies & private equity firms on a broad range of financial reporting, & capital markets topics including:
- IPOs, debt offerings, private placements;
- Carve-outs and/or spin-offs; and
- Acquisitions, alliances/joint ventures, post deal matters.
- Demonstrates a strong interest in deals, capital markets, and other transactions-based activities and should expect to operate in a high pressure, fast-paced work environment.
