Job Title: Procurement Manager
Location: Lagos
Job Description
- The Procurement Manager position reports to the Financial Controller Nigeria and is a part of the SR SSA (Sub Region Sub Saharan Africa) Finance community.
- As Procurement Manager, Roche Nigeria, you will have a leadership position in ensuring governance around the company’s procurement process, developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives and managing supplier relations.
- You will also be responsible for improving cost optimization, service quality including timely delivery of materials and services identified in scope-centralized purchasing.
- Focusing on supplier performance in close collaboration with stakeholders and in line with global category strategies, you will be required to:
- Supervise the logistics function for Roche products: planning, inventory management, importation and customs clearance procedures
- Manage the logistics provider on warehousing and in-market distribution of Roche products
- Improve total costs, service, quality and timely delivery for materials and services identified in scope of centralized purchasing
- Ensure procurement targets in the areas of centralized purchasing as well as for specific KPIs in the Logistics area (forecast accuracy, stock-outs, back-orders, inventory write-offs)
- Build a strong collaborative network with internal business clients and global procurement and logistics functions understanding their needs
- Ensure that the procurement function in Roche is carried out in accordance with high professional standard, in full compliance with internal SOPs, group guidelines, and all relevant legislation
- Coordinate and acts as implementation lead for global procurement projects

This exciting role requires the following experience and skills:
- University degree or similar level education in finance/business related discipline preferably with Procurement or Logistics certification
- 3-5years solid professional experience in technical logistics or finance areas with local business knowledge of procurement and logistics practice
- Competent in planning, inventory management, requisition to payment, and related procurement and logistics systems (in particular SAP)
- Ability to establish self as a true business partner at ease in interacting with internal and external stakeholders
- Strategic and analytical thinking and project management abilities, coupled with high level presentation and negotiation skills;
- Ability to operate successfully in a matrix environment with shared accountability and responsibilities;
- Intercultural understanding;
- Fluent written and spoken English
