Job Title: WASH Deputy Project Manager
Location:

Job Summary
  • The Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Deputy Project Manager will be based in Damasak, Borno State and work under the direct supervision of the WASH Project Manager.
  • The WASH Deputy Project Manager will work closely with the WASH Project Manager in implementing integrated Action Against Hunger WASH project activities in compliance with donor regulations.
  • The responsibilities include but are not limited to; Identification & formulation of WASH projects and Action Against Hunger Nigeria mission strategy.
  • Developing proper monitoring, evaluation and reporting of projects including staffs management and capacity building.
  • Establishing appropriate checks and quality control of WASH construction works.
  • Participate in WASH coordination meeting held at local government and state levels.
Requirements
The Successful Candidate Will:
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Public Health/ in a field related to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. Additional training courses specific to WASH in development contexts (such as Bioforce Institute graduates), and/or Project Management professional certifications strongly preferred.
  • Have minimum of 2 years relevant working experience, in a WASH management/supervisory capacity.
  • Have strong interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills.
  • Have excellent oral and written skills and computer skills.
  • Be able to work independently, multitask and show initiative. Strong leadership, communication, and management skills are essential.
  • Possess clear understanding of humanitarian principles and their application to program implementation.
  • Have the ability to supervise, mentor and coach a diverse team.

Job Title: Nutrition Deputy Project Manager
Location:

Job Summary
  • The Nutrition Deputy Project Manager will be based in Damasak, Borno State and report to the Nutrition Project Manager.
  • The Nutrition Deputy Project Manager will be responsible for leading and supervising nutrition and health activities at all stages of the project management cycle.
  • He/she is also responsible for accomplishing the program objectives and outcomes within the contextual constraints in coordination and synergy with other Deputy Project Managers.
  • He/she will ensure the completion of all defined activities by the Nutrition and Health team while adhering to internal standards and contractual obligations.
Responsibilities
  • The Nutrition DPM also has responsibilities regarding the capacity building of staff; humanitarian needs identification through needs assessments, monitoring of the evolving situation; context analysis to contribute to the development of future programs and internal coordination.
Requirements
The successful candidate will;
  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy or Public Health Degree in  a field related to Nutrition & Health and or training/courses specific to Nutrition and Health in emergency contexts.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in working with CMAM, IYCF and other health related programs.
  • Be Fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • Have human resource management experience, leadership and motivation/training skills.
  • Have excellent organization skills, attention to detail, time management and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Have strong capacity to represent Action Against Hunger and sustain relations with state and local stakeholders.
  • Have excellent Interpersonal skills (team management, communication, reporting, planning and organizational skills).
  • Be committed to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
  • Have experience of working within humanitarian sector and context.

Job Title: Nutrition Officer 
Location:
 Maiduguri, Borno

Job Summary
  • The Nutrition officer will be based in Maiduguri, Borno State and will work under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Deputy Project Manager.
  • He/she will play a key role in the implementation of community health groups (CHGs) within the community for each health facility targeted by the CMAM component.
  • He/she will conduct health capacity assessments and also ensure the functionality and linkage between community nutritional screening and health facilities.
  • The Nutrition Officer is also required to represent Action Against Hunger program within the communities.
Requirements
The successful candidate will;
  • Have a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Nutrition, Nursing or related field. Higher level Degree preferred.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years working experience within humanitarian contexts, with at least 1 year in conflict/insecure contexts including community mobilization.
  • Be able and willing to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field.
  • Have the capacity to supervise and coach health workers.
  • Be professional, motivated, flexible and culturally sensitive.
  • Possess excellent team, budget, project management and representation competencies.
  • Be proficient in statistical softwares (Microsoft Office package, SPSS, SPHINX, STATA, EPI Info, ENA for SMART, GIS, etc.)
  • Be committed to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
  • Be fluent in English and other local languages (Kanuri, Fulani, Hausa).
  • Have previous NGO experience in managing mobilization in different interventions (i.e. cash transfers, wash, Nutrition).

Job Title: Community Mobilization Assistant
Location

Job Summary
  • The Community Mobilization Assistant will be based in Fune, Yobe state and report to the Cash Officer.
  • He/She will work with the Cash Officer to implement community mobilization activities in collaboration with the food security team and participate actively in Food Security and Livelihood activities in the community.
Responsibilities
The task and responsibilities includes but are not limited to:
  • Organize sensitization meetings with the community leaders, village heads, community elders, traditional leaders to communicate the details of overall Action Against Hunger program objectives.
  • Undertake community mapping and other similar exercises to facilitate  community level planning and decision making processes.
  • Implement sensitization activities for targeted communities about Cash Transfer and strengthening activities with support from SEMA, Extension workers, Community Volunteers, Traditional Leaders and other key stakeholders in feasible livelihood restoration activities at LGA level.
  • Implement detailed work plan for FSL team at LGA level activities in collaboration with stakeholders and Cash Officer.
  • Support the Cash Officer in ensuring that selected beneficiaries to receive cash transfers is carried out in a transparent way.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Health Information/Health Education and other related qualifications with at least 1 years experience within the humanitarian sector.
  • Experience in food security and livelihood programming and community mobilization.
  • Willingness and capacity to be flexible, supervise and coach community volunteers.
  • Excellent team, budget and project management and representation competencies
  • Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).
  • Ability to speak English and Hausa.
  • Commitment to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
  • To be resident of community area (LGA) of work, networks within the community.
  • Previous NGO experience managing mobilization in different interventions (i.e.; FSL, Cash Transfers, WASH, Nutrition).
