Job Title: Accountant / Finance Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • We are looking for a self-motivated, Accountant/Finance officer to help execute all of our financial goals. Our ideal candidate is someone who can oversee all our financial functions and manage the company’s financial reprting process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Developing and leading all aspects of the company’s financial management and financial reporting.
  • Defines standards, policies, procedures, and measures to meet the company’s financial goals.
  • Cre8s and maintains a variety of performance metrics and dashboards to ensure the optimal finance operation of the business.
  • Manages cash flows, forecasting and all financial accounting activities;
  • Maintains banking & accounting Relationships.
  • Leads financial administration, planning and budgeting activities.
  • Drives financial strategies to mitigate risk and loss.
  • Ensures the company is compliant with tax authorities, understands the tax requirements, and optimizes tax obligations within compliance.
  • Approve payments, purchase authorizations and other financial transactions to ensure compliance with staff rules, financial rules and implementing instruments/authority.
  • Maintains a system to monitor and forecast cash requirements to meet administrative and project expenditures. Establish monthly cash requirements for the company
  • Assists with all aspects of administrative management, directory maintenance, logistics, equipment and storage.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by check stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; sourcing for suppliers (vendors) and submitting invoices.
  • Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and/or the prices of raw materials to keep costs down where possible.
  • Ensures data integrity in all financial reporting and conduct periodic financial analysis to identify and resolve issues, gaps or variances.
  • Manages cash controls as well as maintain book keeping up-to-date.
  • Ensures all expenses are within assigned project budget.
  • Ensures that financial transactions are properly updted and recorded.
  • Identifiing and resolves invoicing issues, accounting discrepancies and other financial related issues.
  • Initiates both local and foreign bank transfers and ensure transfers are done on time.
  • Undertakes other duties as required.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate be extremely detail oriented, have excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize projects.
  • At least 2 years experience
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
  • B.Sc degree or professional certificate in Accounting.
  • Knowledge of local tax remittances;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Tech-savvy;
  • Detail oriented and organized;
  • Self-motivated
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Knowledge of financial regulations
  • Sharp time management skills
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
  • Professional qualification as a CFA/CPA is considered a plus
  • Prior experience work at startup or in the marketing communications industry/printing industry is a plus.
  • ACCA, CFA, or ICAN certified is a plus
  • Its also a plus if you reside on the island.


Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • We are looking for a self-motivated, Operations Manager to Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output.
  • He/She will be responsible for planning organizing efficient utilization of resources (manpower, raw materials and equipment capacity) and ensuring that production lead-time is optimized.
Qualifications
  • First Degree preferred
  • Must have 2 – 4 years experience in operations .
  • Applicants with lower educational qualifications and real experience will also be considered.
  • Computer literate with an intermediate knowledge of MS Office.
  • Professional project management certification and experience are an advantage.
  • Its also a plus if you reside on the island.

Responsibilities
Operations:

  • Organize and coordinate day-to-day business operations in ways that ensure maximum productivity.
  • Establish organizational/operational structures.
  • Develop methods to monitor project or area progress.
  • Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of all business units, and provide corrective supervision where necessary.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication between business units
  • Implement and/or manage operational and production plans.
  • Develop and monitor operation of the definition of Service Levels Agreements (SLAs), Mous, Trade Agreements.
  • Produce monthly oprations review reports to evaluate growth performances
  • Plan work schedules, estimate material costs and assign duties to staff to maintain effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workload
  • Develop methods to monitor project or area progress; and provide corrective supervision if necessary.
  • Active involvement in estiating, negoating and agreeing budgets and timescales with procurement and marketing managers.
  • Develop and Implement Project Cost Management Plan.
  • Responsible for cost, schedule control and validates payment milestones with finance before payment to vendors.
  • Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, recordkeeping systems, forms control, office layout, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing changes.
  • Develop and maintain a filing system
  • Be responsible for calendar management requiring interaction with internal staff and external executives and assistants, clients, consultants and vendors.
  • Manage activities throughout the order fulfillment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met.
  • Ensure operation of supplies by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining supplies inventories.
  • Facilitate the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationshps with partners/vendors/suppliers.
  • Responsible for end-to-end quality project delivery and PO closure.

Strategic Input:

  • Liaise with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational and sales activity.
  • Collaborate with production in vendor screening and selection.
  • Proactively communiate observations that will improve the efficiencies and success of the company.
  • Assist in special projects on an as needed basis with other staff members.
