We are recruiting to fill the position below:
 Job Title: Hook-up Engineer
Vacancy ref: 58653
Location: Lagos
Reporting to: Hook-up Manager
Business area: Surf and Conventional
Working hours: 40 hours per week
Contract type: Staff
Description of Function
  • The Hook-up engineer coordinates the Hook-up activities. He is in charge to support the hook-up activity, onshore and offshore.
Key Responsibilities
Onshore:
  • Attend to Constructability review
  • Attend to risk assessment level 1
  • Prepare materials, Bags & Tags prior to offshore works
  • Fix technical issues raised offshore
  • Ensure that applicable procedures are implemented (safety and risk assessments, document control, material reconciliation, as built, close out, etc.)
  • Assist to the periodic and technical meetings as needed. Ensure minutes are taken; action items listed, assigned and followed through.
  • Prepare materiel requisition for Hook-up tools & equipment.
Offshore:
  • Review of Hook-up preparation documents
  • Participate in offshore surveys (Tie in point’s identification by physical marking).
  • Review and update offshore planning (hook-up sequences)
  • Physical progress reporting
  • Prepare Material Requests as per progress.
  • Clarify technical issues relative to scope of work upon request:
  • For construction with superintendent
  • For material release with store keeper
  • For material request & receipt with offshore logistic coordinator
  • Assist the HU lead in daily tasks (reporting, draft of mob plans and other as required).
  • Handle technical challenges offshore (and issue technical queries as required).
  • Update existing Job cards upon request
  • Identify all potential new scopes, not covered by Job cards
  • Responsible of red mark-up dossier for as-built documentation
  • Participate to final operations report (feedback and lessons learnt)
Authority / Dimensions:
  • Propose technical resolution relative to scope of work
  • Resolve outstanding issues
  • Escalate issues he deems outside site control as necessary

Internally:
  • With Hook-up & Commissioning lead
  • With superintendent
  • With logistic coordinator
  • With material controller
  • With the quality team.
  • With the HSE team.
Externally:
  • With offshore subcontractors & suppliers
Capability Profile – Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Behaviours
  • Knowledge of fabrication and/or installation methods
  • Ability to propose decision on Technical, Resources, Procurement
  • Fluent English, spoken and writing
  • Graduate with a Master of Engineering
  • 5 years minimum of relevant work experience is preferred

Job Title: Hook-up Manager

Description of Function
  • The Hook-up Operations Manager is responsible for the coordination of the hook-up activities on projects during the project execution considering the preparatory engineering phase, procurement plan for equipment and tools, definition of procurement services and necessary marine spread definition, and finally in charge of the coordination of the topside operations
Key Responsibilities
  • Supply hook-up technical expertise for the project.
  • Support and cordon the offshore execution phase, considering assistance during the preparatory engineering phase as well.
  • Participate in the recruitment of hook-up staff as per project requirement and activity workload.
  • Participate in the selection of the hook-up support vessel and spread for project.
  • Prepare hook-up procedures, work sequences, man-hours estimates, planning development, MOB/DEMOB plans of project.
  • Define and follow Mobilization / Demobilization plan of personnel required for project.
  • Define and follow Mobilization / Demobilization of Materials, Equipments required for project.
  • Define Procurement plan for project relative to equipment, materials, consumables, subcontractors needs.
  • Follow-up procurement, utilization, maintenance, storage of the hook-up equipment and tools during project execution.
  • Follow hook-up consumables on the project.
  • Perform Hook-up site visits as required
  • Fabrication sites follow-up
  • Prepare lessons learnt
Authority / Dimensions:
  • Responsible for the preparatory works and coordination; job cards preparation, planning level 3 and 4,
  • Responsible for Hook-up Operations and coordination on the project
  • Responsible for hook-up equipment and tools supply and MOB/DEMOB planning on all sites.
  • Responsible for hook-up consumables: specification, requisition and consumption.
  • Responsible to define the procurement services and subcontractors list for the operational phase
  • Responsible to prepare the specific documentation relative to hook-up operations for this project (SOP, etc…)
Interfaces
Internally:
  • With Engineering Department: Constructability review, Review of procedures, man hours appraisal, planning preparation, hook-up staff (HU lead, HU Engineers, HU preparators, PCC engineers) recruitment and mobilization.
  • With HR Department: staff and manpower recruitment, mobilization.
  • With Operations Department: staff and manpower recruitment, mobilization, vessels requirements, Marine Operations.
  • With ASSET / PMA Department: equipment requirements and fleet management / assistance
  • With SCM department: procurement of equipment, tools and consumables, assistance to sub-contracting.
  • With QHSE department: definition of safety, security and Quality resources required per project.
Externally:
  • With Client regarding the scope of work, planning, procedures and overall organization for project
  • With suppliers or subcontractors when required as per project and Operations requirements.
Requirements/Qualifications
Education/Experience/Competency Guidelines:
  • Engineering or management degree or equivalent industry experience or certification
  • minimum of 15 years experience in associated Industry
  • 5 years management or senior leadership position
Capability Profile – Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Behaviours:
  • Good knowledge of HSE offshore requirements and Group Policy.
  • Experience with topside work including retrofit and revamping work.
  • Experience with lifting and Installation Engineering.
  • Experience with per-commisioning / commissioning of subsea lines
  • Technical knowledge in hook-up equipment’s, materials, tools and consumables.
  • Good organizations capabilities.
