- Our V&M segment includes businesses that provide valves and measurement systems primarily used to control, direct and measure the flow of oil and gas – from individual wellheads through flow lines, gathering lines and transmission systems to refineries, petrochemical plants and other fluid processors.
- V&M’s product line offers many kinds of specialized valves as well as sophisticated measurement products including totalizers, meters and sampling systems.
- Because many of its products are highly technical, V&M’s marketing effort is supported by a collaboration of engineering specialists.
Job Summary
- Cameron Valves and Measurement currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Valves Sales Engineer to join the team in Lagos, Nigeria.
- The Valves Sales Engineer is responsible for maximizing sales of a Product Line’s products and services for their assigned account(s) within a GeoMarket or region.
- The Valves Sales Engineer applies a strong understanding of their Product Line offering, including new technology, to customer problems to help the client achieve greater success. The Valves Sales Engineer establishes lasting professional relationships with his/her customers.
- Ten years technical and sales experience in the oil and gas valve industry.
- Technical understanding of valve and actuation industry – specifications, applications.
- Commercial understanding of valve and actuation industry – volumes, prices.
- Experience in sales negotiation.
- Effective communication skills with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to travel extensively.
- Clear understanding of customer drivers and how they translate into sales leads.
- Profit and customer service driven.
- Good understanding of competition’s offering, pricing tactics and sales strategies.
- Good understanding of markets where customers operate.
- Good understanding of sales pipeline and opportunity management.
Responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Always works according to the Blue Print, Schlumberger’s code of conduct.
- Listens for opportunities for their and other Product Lines/product lines. Listens for market and competitive intelligence. Informs Schlumberger via management and sales tools.
- Develops new business by finding opportunities in new technology and services and maintains existing business.
- Establishes lasting, professional relationships with customer contacts. Meets regularly with customers, and is intimately familiar with their business plans.
- Understands customer’s local environment and identifies new technical applications suited to their needs.
- Ensures that problems arising from sales are responded to and appropriately managed.
- Maintains integrity in all words and actions ensuring ethics, quality and HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) are evident and a key differentiator.
- Actively updates account and sales management regarding changes to customer accounts.
- Coordinates scheduling with the service delivery organization as required.
- Uses the sales systems and processes to document and communicate opportunities, market and competitive intelligence, customer information including: contacts, visit reports, etc.
- Effective use of Sales Business Systems.
