Job Title: Quality Officer

Duties and Responsibilities
- Applies the ISO Quality Management standards on port HSEQ operations.
- Serve as the local quality system administrator and ISO team leader
- Plans and supervises Quality System Audits and evaluates any necessary corrective actions.
- Manage and update the training database on Quality System issues management, methodologies, and implements all necessary training Programs on Quality Management.
- Schedule and perform ISO audits
- Proposes preventive measures, promotes and implements improvement programs.
- Support all administrative functions for ISO compliance
- Manage internal auditing program and hold quality meetings in accordance with the quality manual
- Plans and assesses Port audit results and analyses of non-conformity.
- Prepare, update and circulate reports on Port quality and safety incidents, and propose corrective and preventive actions.
- Provides other units, responsible for analyzing, defining and improving operating procedures and company processes, with the necessary back-up to implement the Quality System.
- Monitors and inspects the loading and unloading of cargo; prepares wharf apron, warehouse and lay-down areas for cargo operations; monitors operations to ensure compliance with all relevant quality regulations.
- Monitors Port and tenant construction and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with all relevant quality regulations and Port standards, and coordinates this work with operational activities.
- Prepares and maintains a wide variety of manual and computer-based records, logs and reports related to the use and operation related to the use, of the Port’s marine terminals and related facilities.
- Performs other related tasks within the Quality, Environment, Safety, and Security Department as directed, such accident / incident analysis and marine casualty root cause analysis.
- Supports company commitment to ISO 9001, 14001, 50001 and OHSAS 18001 certification
- Preparation and execution of internal and external presentations of Quality, Environmental, Safety and Security HSE policies
Qualification and Experience
- Good HND/University Degree
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years relevant work experience relevant HSEQ work experience
- ISO 9001 Quality Management Certification
- Knowledge of port and shipping industry is of critical advantage

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides lead direction and instruction to security guards on duty
- Familiarization with the international regulations e.g. SOLAS, ISPS Code and MARPOL
- Proficient in Security data analysis.
- Oversee the Port Security plan in accordance with ISPS and BASC requirements.
- Advises the Security Manager on current issues affecting the security of the port facility.
- Check and review the DoS, VSP, SSP, and monitors and adjusts the FSP,
- Conducts routine patrols of the port, checking various security posts during the shift, ensuring guard is at post and assists with any problems that may come up during the shift.
- Advises violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying of prohibited articles, and apprehends or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
- Assists in the investigation of incidents that involve theft, vandalism, misconduct, or related activities.
- Manages relations with local authorities on various issues at the terminal.
- Coordinates security related issues for visitors to the port facility
- Responds and assists with emergencies that occur on shift as appropriate.
- Provides crowd control during an emergency or other incident where this is required.
- Completes shift report at the end of each shift of duty
- Supervise deliverables on an ongoing operational basis to ensure that security standards are communicated & complied with by all terminal users.
Qualification and Experience
- Good HND/University Degree
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years relevant work experience relevant HSEQ work experience
- Knowledge of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code
- Working Knowledge of port and shipping industry is of critical advantage

- Maintaining a data base of Suppliers and Contractors
- Prepare price and cost analyses of proposals, and negotiates prices, terms and conditions of service contracts.
- Review and analyses the financial conditions of all offers and recommend to Management for necessary steps. Participate in the evaluation of proposals
- Performs contract administration including liaising with the vendors. Negotiating contract amendments, extensions etc
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and documentation on all purchases, contracts, correspondence and related follow up
- Prepares technical specifications, contract terms and bid documents including all related research and value analysis.
- Analyses current procurement activities and recommends improvements through more efficient procurement methods, automation, quantity discounts etc
- Supervises buyers and clerical staff by providing guidance and assistance
Qualification and Experience
- Good University Degree/HND
- 2 – 4 years of work experience
- Knowledge of procurement and store management
- Working Knowledge of port and shipping industry is of critical advantage
