Job Title: Transmission Planning Engineer

Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the network provisioning, installation and tech sales, sales engineering.
- Provide the planning, implementation, and coordination of DWDM, SDH, Ethernet and OTN network maintenance and restoration activities
- supervise and provide support to vendor during the POC installation and testing.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and database information for networks resources and circuits.
- Network planning and design including network protection schemes, network synchronization, and bandwidth availability and utilization.
- Circuit design as per customer specifications including circuit protection, transport network selection, and interworking across networks.
- Capacity planning and management of available and utilized bandwidth on the DWDM, SDH, Metro Ethernet GPON and OTN networks.
- Planning, selection, upgrade, and evaluation of the networking equipment used in the DWDM, SONET, and TDM networks.
- Research and investigation of new DWDM, SDH, metro Ethernet and GPON network elements and features
- Provide 3rd level technical support for diagnosing and resolving repeated network equipment issues.
- Ensure all NNI with third party providers and customers are protected
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
- Ability to work with minimum supervision

- Good troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
- Good knowledge and experience with DWDM, OTN, Metro Ethernet SDH and GPON technology
- Experience with researching, investigating, evaluating, and qualifying potential new equipment for network deployment.
- Knowledge of fiber optic transmission and transmission systems, and electrical cabling and transmission systems.
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to evaluate, and articulate the cost trade-offs associated with various network and circuit implementations.
- Knowledge and experience with network synchronization and timing distribution.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Outlook.
- Ability to engage with and communicate with vendors, service providers, employees, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.

Job Title: Transmission Technician/Rigger
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Department: Technical
Job Type: Permanent
Responsibilities
The Transmission Technician/Rigger will be responsible for the following:
- Basic understanding of GPON technologies and supports.
- Ability to support nationwide TMS vendors on link restorations in all regions.
- Testing and Commissioning of Microwave links(Ceragon, Ubiquity, Dragonwave and Cambium).
- Comply with company Occupational Health & Safety requirement.
- Previous background of using specific harnesses and fall-arrest systems.
- Testing of earth reading(ER) at sites.
- Timely and accurate completion of all reports as required by field supervisors.
- Coordinating installation activities with Vendors to ensure proper installation was carried out.
- Installation of transmission equipment on site as well as powering up.
- Providing progress reports on installation to all stakeholders.
- Use of Ethernet tester to carry out Y1544 as well as bandwidth test on newly provisioned links.
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Attention to detail.
- Innovative, proactive and flexible.
- Must be mechanically inclined. Construction, climbing, and rigging experience is necessary.
- Ability and desire to climb heights up to 500 feet daily – Good physical condition and state.
- Have proven, relevant work experience.
- Ability to perform Telecom Rigger role.
- Adhere to applicable Health & Safety laws, policies and best practice guidelines
- Great team working skills – the ability to work as a team on the same site / engineering project.
- Good technical background with a solid understanding of mobile and wireless projects.
- OND in Computer science/Electrical Electronics Engineering.
- Years of Experience: 3 years
Demand on the Job:
- Working at late and odd hours.
- Frequent travelling when required.
