Job Title: Warehouse Assistant (Consultant)
Location: Dikwa and Mongunu, Borno State
Reports to: Warehouse Coordinator
Type of contract: Fixed Term

Role Definition
- Role purpose: To support Christian Aid’s development, implementation and monitoring of a 4-month WFP food distribution project.
Role Context
- Based in Borno state (Dikwa) the role is part of the wider Nigeria Country Team.
- The role works closely with the Warehouse Coordinator based in Maiduguri, as well as other colleagues from the Nigeria team.
- The role holders will be based at Christian Aid’s warehouse in Dikwa and Mongunu respectively and will be supporting the Warehouse Coordinator in all aspects of Warehousing including collection, transport and loading and offloading of goods, inventory reporting and stock monitoring.
Key Outcomes
- Movement of goods is supported from point of collection through to distribution to beneficiaries. This includes loading, transportation and off-loading of goods.
- Stock inventory is effectively maintained.
- Warehouse is kept clean, tidy and well organised.
- Support provided in completion of inventory reports as required.
- Information is inputted into forms, reports, logs and records and information and databases.
- Inventory is regularly checked.

- External: World Food Programme and Logistics cluster
- Internal: Warehouse Coordinator, the wider project team, Nigeria country team and humanitarian colleagues.

- Makes day-to-day decisions to contribute to supporting the transport and warehousing of food stocks for humanitarian programmes.
Analytical skills:
- Needs to have a detail-focussed approach to work.

- The Warehouse Assistant is expected to work closely with both the Nigeria team and humanitarian colleagues, adapting to changing priorities but also contributing to an organizational culture of collaboration, accountability, clear communications and compliance.
Person Specification
Applied skills/knowledge and expertise Essential:
- Minimum of Ordinary National Diploma with basic knowledge of clerical work.
- At least 6 months of evidenced experience.
- Good communication skills (oral and written English)
- Basic computer skills.
- Good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
Desirable:
- Administrative and logistical support experience.
IT competency required:
- Intermediate.
