Job Title: Technical Manager

Location: Onne, Rivers

Duties & Responsibilities

The Technical Manager will be in charge but not limited to:

  • Responsible for managing and improving fleet HSE culture
  • Responsible for BINL Technical management of vessel fleet
  • In charge of technical standards improvement
  • In charge of fleet technical Budget compliance
  • Track, Monitor and follow up on the dry dock operations with the internal contractors
  • Act as the functional manager of the chief engineer
  • Prepare , justify and defend the annual technical budget
  • Ensure proper delivery and integration of new build or vessels in the fleet
  • Line reporting & functional linkage
  • The Technical Manager reports to the OSV Fleet Manager

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience as an OSV Chief Engineer is mandatory

Job Title: Deputy Technical Superintendent

Location: Onne, Port-Harcourt, Rivers

Duties & Responsibilities

The Deputy Technical Superintendent will be in charge but not limited to:

  • Support and improve fleet HSE culture
  • Support technical management of vessel fleet
  • Contribute to technical standards improvement
  • Ensure technical management of a fleet of several vessels
  • Ensure Budget compliance
  • Prepare and follow the dry dock operations with the internal contractors
  • Be the functional manager of the chief engineer as applicable
  • Prepare the annual technical budget
  • Contribute to BINL Technical Department standards continuous improvement
  • Ensure proper delivery and integration of new build or vessels in the fleet

Line reporting & functional linkage:

  • The Deputy Technical Superintendent reports to the Technical Superintendent / Technical Manager

Key Skills and Behaviors

  • Good knowledge of safety tools and procedures
  • Knowledge of design and operation of specific technical installations/engines of supply vessels
  • Knowledge of DP equipment and diesel electric propulsion
  • Proficiency in international maritime regulations ( ISM / SOLAS / MARPOL codes and conventions) and Class Society rules
  • Capacity of analysis and investigation
  • Priorities management
  • Personal organization
  • Good knowledge of computerized maintenance management system
  • Management of various suppliers : selection, organization, follow-up
  • Project management skills ( forecast, planning, follow up, networking)
  • Establish budget , follow up, report
  • Good oral communication, good interpersonal and pedagogical skills
  • Team management skills : leadership, team building, empowerment, set-up objectives

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years //within the BOURBON group// as chief engineer/2nd Engineer on OSV and/or superintendent will be an added advantage
  • Previous experience in the offshore industry will be an asset
