Job Title: African Growth and Opportunity Act Specialist
Location: Nigeria
Project Summary
- Chemonics is accepting expressions of interest from qualified Nigerian nationals for the anticipated five-year Feed the Future West Africa Trade and Investment Hub Activity funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The Activity seeks to improve private sector competitiveness in West Africa with a focus on increasing the agricultural productivity and profitability of small holder farmers in Nigeria, and promoting West Africa’s regional and international trade.
- The Activity includes two main components:
- Design and administration of a Grant-making Facility for private sector partnerships
- Technical assistance that directly supports, coordinates, and engages with qualifying recipients (i.e., partners and grantees) to achieve USAID’s trade and food security objectives.
- We are seeking candidates for the position listed above with experience working on USAID or other international donor- funded projects.
Job Details
- Supports partner associations and exporters in AGOA-eligible countries in West Africa to fully understand and utilize the African Growth and Opportunity Act’s provisions.
- S/he will provide guidance and support the development of regional or national strategies to increase AGOA utilization.
Required Qualifications
- BA/B.Sc in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Trade Facilitation, or a related field
- Five years of experience, or an MBA with two years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead regional trainings on AGOA requirements, and work directly with firms and associations to understand and comply with AGOA and other trade related requirements associated with access to the U.S. market
- Must be bilingual in English and French
Job Title: Public Private Partnership (PPP) Director
Location: Nigeria

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in private sector development and a strong focus on development of partnerships with leading private sector companies and associations
- Demonstrated experience with private sector relationships in West Africa to advance program results and objectives and form innovative win-win partnerships
- Must be bilingual in English and French

- The Lead Grants Manager will advise and assist in the design, development, and oversight of grants management policies, procedures, and practices.
- S/he will provide policy guidance and interpretation for staff as well as grantees, and analyze and evaluate grant applications, proposals, and awards to ensure adherence to grants management policies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or other relevant field with at least five years of post- professional (e.g. Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), etc.) experience
- Demonstrated experience in effective grants management (managing grants for results) and procurement
