The Polytechnic, Ibadan was established in the year 1971 to produce man-power particularly in the field of technology who would not only be technically knowledgeable, but also capable of a degree of supervisory management in Commerce, Industry and Business, The institution is one of the foremost pioneer Technological Institutions in the country and is currently ranked by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) as the best State Polytechnic and the fourth best among Federal, State and Private Polytechnics in Nigeria.

Job Title: Chief Librarian
Location:
 Ibadan, Oyo

Details

  • The Chief Librarian is the Chief Supervising Officer of the Institution/s Library and he/she is responsible for the overall library policy and preparation of library budgets.
  • The Chief Librarian, who also plays a supervisory role over departmental libraries Is responsible to the Rector for the smooth running of the Libraries within the Institution and other matters as may be directed by the Rector.

Requirements
The candidate for the post must have:

  • Possess a good honours degree and a postgraduate degree at Masters Level in Library Studies with a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience;
  • Have been an Assistant Chief librarian or its equivalent for a minimum of three(3) years
  • Be ICT compliant and be highly knowledgeable in managing Library of a 21st century higher educational institution.

Conditions of Service

  • All appointments will be for a term of five years and not renewabla Salary and other conditions of service shall be as approved for each position by Government and as may be approved by the Institution’s Governing Council from time to time.
  • Candidates must not be more than 60 years of age at the time of assumption of duty in February 2019.

 

Job Title: Registrar
Location:
 Ibadan, Oyo

Details

  • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the institution and shall be responsible to the Rector for the day to day administration of the Institution.
  • The Registrar who is in charge of the Registry Department shall function as the Secretary to the Governing Council, Academic Board and Statutory Committees, the Registrar shall be responsible for keeping all records in the Institution and shall also perform other duties as maybe assigned by the Rector.

Requirements
The candidate for the post must have:

  • Possess a good honours degree in any relevant field from a recognized Institution, and a Postgraduate degree at Masters level plus at least fifteen (15) years cognate experience;
  • Be a registered and active member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) or the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, or any recognised Professional Institution
  • Have been a Deputy Registrar for at least three (3) years;
  • Be prolific in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Job Title: Rector
Location:
 Ibadan, Oyo

Details

  • The Rector shall be the Chief Executive and Chief Academic Officer of the Polytechnic and shall exercise general supervision over the Institution.
  • He/She shall be the Chairman of Board of Studies and Congregation and Member of the Governing Council.
  • He/She shall be responsible to Council for the day to day management of the human, financial and material resources of the Polytechnic.
  • The Rector is not only to provide the requisite leadership in academic affairs, he is expected to seek the support of the public sector; Industry, higher educational Institutions and professional bodies in repositioning the Institution for improved level of performance and global competitiveness.

Requirements
The candidate for the post must have:

  • Hold a good honours degree and a higher degree, preferably a Doctorate degree, from a recognized Institution in any of the disciplines offered in the Institution. His/Her academic standing must be very high and must have good track record of accomplishment In the academic professional field;
  • Have held a senior teaching and/or research post in an Institution of higher learning and must have been a Chief Lecturer or a comparable status in any other tertiary institution for a minimum of not less than five years, in any of the disciplines in the Polytechnic;
  • Understand the national, global and academic purpose of the Polytechnic and should have a wide administrative experience;
  • Be someone who commands respect and loyalty of majority of members of staff and students of the Institution;
  • Be someone of courage, who Is firm and can take decisions on the merit of facts and principles and riot on the basis of pressure from groups or individuals;
  • Be someone who is not likely to foster personal social ethnic political, religious or other sectional
  • Command both national and international respect, particularly in the academic/technological world and which would further enhance the good reputation of the Polytechnic;
  • Be of a sound health and mind, pleasant disposition, unassailable integrity arid strong moral character for inspiring and maintaining moral discipline among staff and students;
  • Be of proven ability and capability to initiate contacts and research grants from national and international sources;
  • Be prolific in information and communication technology

Job Title: Director, Works and Services
Location:
 Ibadan, Oyo

Details
The Director of Works and Services is the Chief Supervising Officer of the Works and Services Department and he/she is directly responsible to the Rector in the performance of the following specific schedules among others:

  • Formulation of divisional strategies to achieve institutional goals
  • Planning and controlling the technical activities of the Works and Services Department
  • Advising the Rector on the acquisition, operation and maintenance of all institutions assets
  • Preparation of budget for the Department and exercising its control;
  • Keeping an Inventory of all Institution’s vehicles and property, has the responsibility for their maintenance, security and up-keep.

Requirements
The candidate for the post must have:

  • Possess a good first degree or equivalent qualification in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a reputable Institution and a postgraduate degree at Masters level;
  • Be a COREN Registered Engineer with current membership of relevant professional association(s);
  • Have at least 15 years post qualification cognate experience in projects/works management.
  • Have been a Chief Engineer or its equivalent for at least 3 years.

Job Title: Bursar
Location:
 Ibadan, Oyo

Details

  • The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of The Polytechnic and directly responsible to the Rector.
  • He/she is therefore responsible for the smooth operation of the Bursary department, and should plan, organize, direct and coordinate the operations of the financial system of the Institution.

Requirements
The candidate for the post must have:

  • Possess a good honours degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related discipline from a recognised institution, and a postgraduate degree at Masters Level in any relevant discipline;
  • Be a registered and active member of any of the following professional bodies: ICAN, ICMA, CPA, ACCA,ANAN;
  • Be ICT compliant and conversant with current trends in Financial Reporting’. IFRS, IPSAS;
  • Have a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate post qualification experience In a tertiary Institution or relevant organization with at least three (3) years experience as Chief Accountant or Its equivalent;
  • Be a person of integrity and transparency an matters of financial management with proven record and evidence of excellent managerial ability.
