Job Description
- Work closely with project management, technical services and support group, external vendor partners and the client to ensure a smooth implementation and transition of servers and related products in line with IBEDC policies.
Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve server and operating system issues assigned through the ticketing system
- Identify technical environment issues and implement solutions to mitigate problems.
- Perform routine proactive server maintenance activities including firmware upgrades, patching etc.
- Research and test recurring problems, determine anomalies within supported software applications
- Update and create technical product trouble-shooting documentation.
- Assists with input on small scale server projects
- Analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design and installation of new and existing computer systems
- Identify complex technical environment issues and implement permanent resolutions to mitigate problems.
- Perform advanced proactive server maintenance activities including HP blade chassis maintenance, cluster/high availability maintenance etc.
- Optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary.
- Develop processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment.
- Build servers based on the designs developed by working closely with the project team to gather and interpret specifications for server hardware and software.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum Qualification Bachelor’s Degree
- Required Experience 10 – 15 years
- Excellent co-ordination and organization skills
- Quality experience in writing various scripting languages
- Understanding of the business of IBEDC and related businesses in the electricity sector
- Knowledge of Utilities Industry
- Strategic planning and Business Development (services and products)
- Strong Customer Relation Management skills
- Knowledge of Marketing & Customer Insights
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Good interpersonal , negotiation and communications skills
- Knowledge of billing /collection practices, procedures, and basic software in billing reconciliation
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and relevant billing applications utilized by IBEDC

- To manage the development, build, configuration, customization, integration and testing of solutions based on functional and technical specifications to meet quality & performance requirements
- To ensure that the solutions meet quality, performance, architectural and functional requirements
Responsibilities
- Facilitates the implementation of various software packages (billing systems, accounting applications, prepaid vending, procurement applications, etc.)
- Assists in developing policies and procedures to guide the deployment of software applications
- Ensures that the organisation has a systematic approach toward examining new technologies and utilizing core IT assets that address both the fundamental business goals and persistent business needs
- Provides management and oversight of multiple complex technology projects (software deployment) – identifies potential points of resistance or confusion and develops specific plans to mitigate or address concerns
- Assists in managing the Enterprise Applications budget and provides input in the administration of related budgets
- Liaises with vendors to ensure optimum services are delivered according to contractual terms
- Coordinates the testing of software programs and applications
- Communicates with network and server administrators, vendors, end-users, and software developers to ensure quality assurance
- Manages the dissemination of information on best practices for application usage
- Manage the service level management process; ensure implementation of SLAs and OLAs

- Good knowledge of EA Modelling and Management tools, Oracle Databases, Microsoft technologies and applications
- Knowledge of advanced principles and practices of software development life-cycle
