We are recruiting to fill in the position below:

 

 

Job Title: PSS Facilitator
Location: Damboa, Borno
Slot: 8 Openings
Duration: 7 months

Role Purpose

  • This position is Reporting to the Case Worker, the main purpose of the position is to carry out an array of age and gender appropriate psychosocial support activities for the most vulnerable and at-risk children, adolescents and caregivers with respect to their culture and contextual sensitivities.

Position Summary

  • The PSS Facilitator has the knowledge and practical skills to carry out focused psychosocial support activities with children at high risk of vulnerability. Focused PSS activities will be carried out in line with individual organization and interagency guidelines.
  • The intention of this position is to build the resilience of Most Vulnerable children through Psychosocial Support activities.
  • The Facilitator implements the activities in a manner that leaves considerable positive impact on children.

Key Areas of Accountability

  • Ensure that CFS registration and attendance are done properly.
  • Ensure Regular CFS activities according to schedule (recreational and gender and age sensitive life skills discussions)
  • Ensure Operation of Child Help Desk (CHD) session and also facilitate CFS activities.
  • Ensure Counselling sessions to children (with register and individual files)
  • Referral of more severe cases to case workers
  • Ensure that children are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activity and that they feel safe and respected.
  • Work with the IDS Field Manager to ensure that all financial activities conducted in camps are properly documented in line with Donor procedures and organization policies.
  • Ensure all documentation, reports, and records are maintained per agreed procedure, and information is provided on community activities as required.
  • Maintain documentation and Child Protection Information Management System (CPIMS) at the community/state office level.
  • Facilitate mentoring and coaching of case workers on various topics, as outlined in the implementation plan.
  • Maintain documentation and Child Protection Information Management System (CPIMS) at the community/state office level.
  • Must adhere to the organization policies and reporting standards.
  • Write and submit weekly activity reports.

  • Knowledge of risk assessments; counseling skills, child abuse standards, child welfare legislation and regulations.
  • Ability to work as an integral member of a team and work with little or no supervision as may be required.
  • Ability to follow direction and work effectively under pressure.
  • Good planning, organisation, problem-solving, decision-making and liaison skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with other resource persons and facility.
  • Ability to withstand stressful situations that may arise as a result of challenging work environment.

Qualifications Required

  • Minimal Diploma in a Social Development related field, (Social Worker, Psychology, Sociology, Specialized Education).
  • At least 0 to 1 years’ experience working with children and preferably high-risk children and/or refugee/ vulnerable population
  • Knowledge in Child Protection.
  • Strong facilitation and organizational skills;
  • Motivated-and ability to work in a team.
  • Language Requirements:Fluency in English, Hausa and Kanuri is required.

 

 

Job Title: Livelihood Officer
Location:
 Damboa, Borno State.
Duration: 7 months

Role Purpose

  • The Livelihood Officer is responsible for assisting Project Program Manager, project partners and communities in planning, implementation and monitoring of key project activities in close coordination with different stakeholders and service providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans for effective execution of the project activities related to livelihood approaches to disaster resilience as stipulated in the project document which includes but not limited to skills, practices and capacities to manage resources and skills particularly of poor and vulnerable and institutional strengthening to increase their salience of the target communities to different hazards and victimization.
  • Assist Project Coordinator, other project staff and project partners to break-down and elaborate the project strategies if and when necessary to integrate into development and disaster risk reduction to increase the resilience of the communities.
  • Assist Project Coordinator and project partners to establish close coordination and cooperation with district line agencies and authorities, between local project partners, communities, project beneficiaries and other stakeholders at project level for effective delivery of project activities and policy influence at local level.
  • Identify, prioritize and support communities to implement potential livelihood strategies that are less sensitive to existing and potential hazards and resilient to disasters.
  • Design, develop and provide necessary training for target communities to develop skills and capacities for disaster resilient livelihood strategies and viable options for income.

Key Competencies Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Development or other related fields.
  • In-depth understanding of urban poverty and vulnerability issues in North east Nigeria.
  • Minimum of two years of professional work experience in livelihood with centered approaches on poverty and vulnerability reduction, family business scheme, micro enterprises and fund management.
  • Proficient and experienced in planning, monitoring and reporting of project activities in relevant field in multi-stakeholder partnerships and collaborations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, communication, negotiation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to compose, edit, analyse and report program progress using complex information.
  • Excellent computer skills.

Case Worker
Location

Role Purpose

  • This position is responsible for ensuring proper and quality implementation of the Case management component of the.

Position Summary

  • The Case Management Assistant is a high level and sensitive position that will be responsible for supporting beneficiaries in the course of project implementation.
  • The Case Management Assistant is expected to assist case management officer in producing plans to facilitate project implementation such as track keeping plans as well as progress report.

Key Areas of Accountability

  • Conduct referral and protection mapping.
  • Lead the formation and initial training of foster parents.
  • Ensure meetings and activities hold monthly.
  • Ensure all documentation, reports, and records are maintained per agreed procedure, and information is provided on community activities as required.
  • Facilitate mentoring and coaching of case workers on various topics, as outlined in the implementation plan.
  • Maintain documentation and Child Protection Information Management System (CPIMS) at the community/state office level.
  • Work with the IDS Field Manager to ensure that all financial activities conducted in camps are properly documented in line with Donor procedures and organization policies.
  • Ensure all cases are case managed with confidentiality clause adhered to.
  • Coordinate case conference meetings.
  • Daily supervision of the Back to school campaign case workers.
  • Ensure that case workers are trained on registration of the beneficiaries.
  • Ensure the quality of the inter-agency case management tools.
  • Must adhere to the organization policies and reporting standards.
  • Write and submit weekly activity reports.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as requested by Line Manager.

Language Requirements:
