Job Title: Electrical/Mechanical Engineer
Location: Lagos
Reports to: General Manager
Job Responsibilities
- Manages projects using engineering principles and techniques.
- Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems by conducting research programs and making recommendations on best solutions.
- Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- equipment and system capabilities; confirming assembly, and installation processes.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
- Provides technical advice assess project requirements, service and maintain equipment.
- Measures the performance of mechanical components, devices and engines
- Maintains and modify equipment to ensure that it is safe, reliable and efficient.
- Read design specifications and technical drawings on every equipment purchased before installation.
- Research suitable solutions and estimate costs and timescales required per project/repairs Electrical
- Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, apply knowledge of electricity and materials.
- Install and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards
- Use computer-assisted engineering software (AutoCAD) to perform engineering tasks as required.
- Provide quality assurance for ongoing projects
- Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research; applying knowledge of electricity and materials
- Confirms system’s and components’ capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties as required.
- Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Provides engineering and mechanical information by answering questions and requests.
Qualifications & Experience
- A good University Degree in any relevant discipline
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar position
- French speaking is an added advantage
- Experience in rural Electrification and Solar Energy will be an added advantage.

Job Title: Engineering Manager
Location: Lagos
Job Descriptions
Project Engineering:
- The primary responsibility for the Engineering Manager includes the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of on-going projects and projects under development.
- The EM will be responsible for performance monitoring processes (PMS) to ensure targets are met with respect to quality, cost and schedule on all projects.
- The EM will supervise and work closely with various engineering discipline Leads and be responsible for the overall technical delivery of projects and services to the satisfaction of our various clients.
- The EM will manage the overall productivity of engineering staff by assigning the right individuals to tasks. In all cases, the EM will keep in mind the zero-tolerance safety culture of IESL and encourage safety in design mandate for all proposed technical solutions.
- The EM will, from time to time, represent IESL at technical meetings such as design review workshops, presentation of company capabilities to prospective clients, conferences, etc.
- Plan and manage engineering and design systems implementation, technical specifications, standard drawings standard setup of models etc., and data management systems
- Manage value improvement processes
Technical:
- The Engineering Manager also ensures that the Customer criteria and scope of work are being met by all engineering disciplines
- Ensures the correct input data has been used
- Ensures appropriate design methods are used

- Managing engineering activities to ensure:

Engineering:
- Establish processes that:
- Ensure that supervisors and personnel understand the engineering processes that deliver technical integrity, safety and environmental outcomes.
- Require the application of the engineering tools that are appropriate to the complexity and nature of the task
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the engineering processes.
- Promote collaboration with other functional groups and stakeholders to support delivery of safe and sustainable engineering outcomes.
- Every activity undertaken must be in compliance with relevant codes and standards, EMS documentation and customer requirements as defined in the Basis of Design and Project Execution Plan.
Safe and Sustainable Engineering for Asset Life (SEAL):
- Provide technical interface with customer and ensure the customer is aware of the environmental effects of the deliverable and is qualitative/quantitative information, including options for improvement (e.g. efficiency, alternate process or construction method) so the customer can make informed investment decisions
Quality:
- Ensure the project team is working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the project, and lead and coordinate all technical reviews both with stakeholders and internally within the project
Project Planning;
- Leading the development of the schedule and budget establishment for engineering and to control, monitor and report engineering performance against budget and schedule
- Review discipline manhour estimates and consolidate into an overall engineering estimate
Project Support:
- Assisting the General Manager in the project initiation activities and in preparation and implementation of the Project Execution Plan
- Performing project or task management functions as delegated by the General Manager, including Customer liaison, coordination of technical meetings, and general project supervision and coordination
- Coordinating between engineering and procurement and between engineering and construction and manage third party consultants/specialists
Confidentiality and Intellectual Property:
- Ensure the integrity of all intellectual property including that owned by IESL and that used by IESL under agreed terms with the owner/provider of the information
- Be aware of, and maintain, any confidentiality requirements on the project. In some cases, the whole project may be “confidential”, in other cases it may just be certain documents or certain “areas” which are confidential.
Job Requirements
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional / Chartered Engineer (or equivalent).
- MBA and Project Management Certification will be a plus.

Job Title: Chemical Trader
Location: Lagos
Reports to: General Manager
Job Responsibilities
- Manage chemical contract portfolios
- Analyze international chemical markets through various reports
- Running daily processes to enable straight through trade processing
- Preparing for new trade types and markets across processes to support front office growth
- Develop systems to automate or streamline legacy processes to improve efficiency and ensure resource optimization.
- Develop long, medium and short-term corporate strategies and action plans
- Producing monthly P&L reporting for senior management
- Managing key project initiatives including communication, project planning, business requirements, system integration and work flow.
- Lead, review and approve trading and marketing decisions based on market facts
- Working with traders, analysts and management to deliver new processes and facilitate execution
- Schedule monthly commodity deliveries with associated purchasers
- Generate and evaluate requests for proposals
- Harmonize sales issues through the value chain, including revenue reporting, accounting, and operations
- Manage client/customer relationships and develope new business opportunities
Qualifications & Experience
- A good University Degree in any relevant discipline
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar position with emphasis on thorough understanding of movement and pricing of crude oil, natural gas, and petroleum products.
