Job Title: Coordinator, Regional SHE (Supervisory)

Location: Nigeria

Job Descriptions

  • To ensure the effective management of Risk whilst identifying, implementing, monitoring and ensuring control for mitigating hazard
  • To ensure the MTNN SHE systems and processes are in compliance with relevant applicable laws and requirements
  • To ensure the Safety of all Persons, company Asset, Environment and Reputation of the company within the SHE space
  • Ensure strategic cost reduction and saving in Opex/ CAPEX
  • Advice and Support MTN Regional Management and Staff On Results From Audits / Risk Assessments Related To The Following Areas: – Work Areas, Operation, Critical Jobs, Critical Tasks To Ensure Safe Working Environment At All Times.
  • Conduct Regular Safety, Health And Environment Surveillance To Identify Hazards And Proactively Prevent Incidents.
  • Develop And Review SHE Specific Targets for Regional Operation In Line With MTN SHE Annual Plan And Evaluate Contractor SHE Performance for the Region.
  • Co-Ordinate SHE Audits On MTN Facilities And BTS Sites And Partners (E.G. MTNN Approved Hotels) And Contractor Sites To Monitor Compliance With Approved SHE Standards And/Or Relevant Local/International Legislations And Co-Ordinate Pre-Mobilization Audits For Clients Within Area Of Coverage.
  • Participate Actively Through Provision Of Advice And Support During Regional Incident Investigation To Establish Root Cause, Cascade Lateral Learnings And Make Recommendations To Minimize Re-Occurrence.
  • Monitor MTNN Contractors on SHE Issues and Ensure Compliance with MTNN SHE Policy Requirements.
  • Produce Weekly Performance Report On The Regional SHE Activities To Support The Overall SHE Objectives And Quarterly Regional Performance Report.
  • Participate In The Development And Review Of SHE Processes And Procedures By Ensuring That Documentations Are Done In Line With The Best Practices/Standards.
  • Oversee and Coordinate All Activities Of Direct Reports And Ensure All Transactions And Administrative Documentation Is Recorded And Available For Business Use.
  • Ensure timely resolution of all applicable/ relevant internal concerns within scope
  • Investigate And Report On Notified SHE Related Complaints In Line With The Complaints Management System And Ensure That Customer Complaints Are Escalated And Effectively Resolved.
  • Advise Management On Developments In Environmental Issues To Ensure Consistent Adherence To Local And International Legislations, Regulations And Standards.
  • Effective customer management and customer satisfaction
  • Periodically engage Regulatory/governmental agencies (FMEnv, NESREA, MDAs, etc) to ensure continual compliance
  • Participate in conferences, seminars, public hearings etc
  • Enhance SHE Awareness By Sending Out Quarterly Safety Health And Environmental Tips To Regional Staff And Contributing Articles To The SHE Bulletin.
  • Review The Performance Of Individual Team Members And Complete Appraisals In Accordance With The Employee Performance Appraisal Procedures And Time Schedules.
  • Coach And Train Direct Reports To Ensure Understanding Of The Objectives And Goals Of The Department, Awareness Of Set Targets/Requirements And Increase Product Knowledge As Well As Identify Developmental Opportunities For Team Members.

Experience & Training
Education:

  • First Degree in any Sciences or Engineering or Arts/Humanities
  • MSc or MBA in relevant field will be an added advantage

Experience:

  •  3 – 7 years relevant experience in SHE Management /Coordination
  • Membership of Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON), Nigerian Environmental Society (NES) or any other recognized HSE Organization
  • Experience working in a medium organization
  • Experience in Professional Safety, Health and Environment Functions, with good exposure/level of experience in HSE
  • Proficient in MS Office  Applications and other Microsoft tools
  • Ability to use and understand SHE software tools and applications, and apply it to work

Training:

  • Certifications in NEBOSH IGC, NISP Level 3, General HSE and any Environment related training will be an added advantage
  • Internal Auditor certification in any of OSHAS18001,  EMS and QMS

Job Title: Accountant, Tax (Supervisory)

Job Description

  • To coordinate and report on all tax related activities in MTNN
  • Assist in dealing with tax issues relating to related party transactions, international/cross border transactions and Transfer Pricing documentation and compliance
  • Assist in reviewing contracts and agreements for tax impacts
  • Compute monthly and annual corporate tax and ensure proper provisioning
  • Deferred tax: Ensure balance sheet approach of deferred tax is reconciled with income statement approach
  • HFM Tax Computation Input to MTN Group Tax
  • HFM Tax Cash flow and Deferred Tax Input to Management Reporting
  • Income Tax Variance Analysis Reports and Trends
  • Provide support in advising on tax impact of business transactions and strategy
  • Review the tax impact of IFRS adjustment as they relate to the financials
  • Assist in informing or educating other divisions on tax related issues through strategy documents, PPP, and Capacity building workshops
  • Proactively provide support in advising the business on recent tax laws and impact on the business operations
  • Maintain systems and strategies to ensure updated PPPs for CIT, PAYE, CGT and VAT. This will include normal CIT, VAT on normal operations, VAT on imported services, VAT on assets disposed, PAYE compliance, WHT on receivables and reimbursable expenses as well as CGT on disposals
  • Provide support in dealing with external tax queries from MTN Group
  • Direct Tax Reporting and Planning
  • Coordinate tax aspect of Half year review, Hard close audit and Full year statutory audit
  • Assist in preparation of Board Papers Submission  on tax related matters
  • Provide Tax schedules and Group Tax Reports
  • Alignment of tax reporting to financial reporting
  • Tax Review of Company Budget, Business Plan and Quarterly Forecast
  • Tax computation and provisioning for XS BROADBAND and any other subsidiary
  • Assist in dealing with BRM and Internal audit request and issues
  • Indirect Tax Administration, Reporting and Compliance
  • Filing tax returns and Remittance of VAT on Normal Operations, VAT on Foreign Services, VAT on Proceeds from disposal of fixed assets, WHT on Local and Foreign Transactions and WHT Management (Receivables and Payables credit notes)
  • Response to transactional tax queries and tax issues raised by departments within the business
  • Annual review of PAYE Tax Computation before return is filed by the Salaries Unit
  • Ensure adherence to business intentions and guidelines. E.g. the five year accounting presentation format.
  • Compute and file all federal, state, local, sales, and other tax returns including related reports to ensure MTNN’s compliance with all tax laws and regulations
  • Maintain complete and well organized work papers and business records for tax purposes.
  • Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts and assist the Senior Tax Accountant with special projects on need basis.
  • Prepare income tax provisions for each period.
  • Keep record of all tax transactions and related balance sheet activity for tax and audit purposes.
  • Ensure proper filing system.
  • Supervise dealing with external tax queries from FIRS, SBIRs and Vendors
  • Prepare audit support data for external auditor use
  • Coordinate tax operations of XS Broadband, MTNF and any other subsidiary

Job Title: Analyst, Customer Acquisition (Supervisory)

Job Description

  • To collate and analyse SIM Cards registration, SIMS availability/Supply and Distribution, Activations, Customer  Retention and churn  intelligence information on an on-going basis, (in relation to benchmarking and competition) and provide insight to  Customer Acquisition Channel performance.
  • Evaluate performance measured against SIM registration channel objectives in the following areas:
    • Trade Partner and Sub – Trade Partner  Environments
    • Walk-in-Centres
    • Mobile Lite
    • Connect Stores and Connect Points
    • Other Sim Registration Agents
  • Collect, analyze and interpret a wide variety of Channel data and develop weekly /monthly reports in preparation for business review meetings.
  • Engage the regions to follow up on implementation of Customer Acquisition Channel Initiatives.
  • Provide and maintain a strong and reliable database to facilitate tracking and improvement of channel services and providing information enabling channel business decisions to be made.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year to date (YTD) measurement reports.
  • Provide functional support to Customer Acquisition Manager
  • Report and analyze SIM Card registration, SIMS availability/Supply and Distribution, Activations, Customer Retention /Churn trends and activity plans.
  • Maintain Customer Acquisition Channel members’ database (SIM Registration Point and End Users Details).
  • Establish and maintain contact with external intelligence both locally and internationally, and verify the authenticity of the information received
