Within delegated authority, the Vulnerability Assessment and Mapping (VAM) Associate will be responsible for the following duties under the guidance and supervision of the VAM Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Produce thematic maps based on the analysis such as: food insecure, vulnerability and livelihoods Maps; WFP assisted programs target areas; seasonal hazards and shocks map from monitoring reports; seasonal hotspot area maps and assessment findings
- Participate in Vulnerability and Food security assessments, monitoring and verification
- Process all Vulnerability and Food Security assessment data for analysis/verification by the VAM officer
- Consolidate and analyse market price data coming from field and partners
- Assist in regular timely dissemination of information among CO, AO/SO, NGO, UN agencies, donors.
- Provide data collection and data base programme basic training to the WFP field and Cooperating Partner staff.
- Co-ordinate with National Bureau Statistics to insure a standardisation of population figures and names.
- Participation in food security sector meeting
- Support the implementation of contextually appropriate targeting based on guidelines outlined in the targeting SOP

- Job holder should have at least 3 years of postgraduate progressively responsible experience in food security, vulnerability analysis or a closely related area, such as food security or early warning.

Job Purpose

Information Management (IM):
- Produce Logistics Sector products/reports in Logistics Sector product formats or specific formats as required within the operation ensuring they are regularly revised/updated if required. Key products include: Situation updates, bulletins, snapshots, briefings, situation updates.
- Liaise with Logistics Sector/Cluster partners, other Sectoral partners, and national counterparts to gather information for the production of daily sitreps and weekly bulletins, ensuring that challenges and concerns relating to the logistics operation are represented.
- Support the Logistics Sector Coordinator as required in drafting donor proposals.
- Manage content of Logistics Sector country operations page – in close coordination with Global Logistics Cluster support team in Rome.
