Job Title: Chief Operations Officer
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Provide complete oversight for all technical and trading operations as well as logistics activities at all the terminals of the Company and other facilities across all countries where the Company operates.
Operations:
- Monitor operational efficiency at all the Company’s terminals, pipelines and other facilities across countries.
- Liaise with clients to ensure that contracts for the use of (Company’s facilities) achieve revenue targets.
- Oversee the construction and set-up of new terminals and ensure that project milestones are met.
Country Operations:
- Drive positive relationship management with regulators and other key external stakeholders.
- Liaise with regulators to secure requisite permits and licenses, as well as achieve favourable contract negotiations (and concessions) on behalf of the Company within the countries of operations.
- Oversee the Chief Country Officer’s activities and provide political support where necessary.
- Dealing with external stakeholders e.g. regulators asking for PR before processing requisite documents
Energy Trading:
- Oversee the documentation and approval of the Company’s annual Trading Plan by the Head, Energy Trading.
- Ensure that products of the highest international quality are sourced at very competitive rates.
- Determine and advise executive management on appropriate pricing levels of products.
- Determine and advise executive management on when to sell products.
- Monitor profitability levels of each product to ensure that annual profitability forecasts are met.
- Coordinate resolution of supply chain issues whenever such arise.
Security & Safety:
- Liaise with the Head, HSSEQ to ensure total safety and security of all Company’s assets across countries.
- Liaise with the Terminal Operations Manager (or Head, Operations) to ensure zero product loss/theft incidents at the Company’s facilities across countries.
- Work with the Head, HSSEQ to ensure that trucks/tankers that come into the terminals for loading of products meet all safety and regulatory requirements.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree preferably in any Engineering related discipline.
- A Master’s Degree preferably in any Engineering related discipline.
- Possession of a relevant Postgraduate qualification where an MBA would be an added advantage.
- Membership of any relevant professional body e.g. COREN, NSE etc.
- At least 12-15 years’ work experience in Operations, Relationship Management, Strategy Development and Execution, Managing Projects, and Process Formulation and Optimization.
- Added Advantage: Minimum of 5 years’ strategic multi-country experience in similar management role.
- Knowledge of the Nigerian oil and gas industry and exposure with its logistics value chain.
- Strong Business Acumen.
- Knowledge of marine operations.
- Knowledge of tank farm operations.
- Knowledge of product trading.
- Cost management.
- Fluent in Technology advances.
- Highly sociable and interpersonal skills.
- Possession of good appreciation and understanding of strategic and business planning frameworks, principles and techniques.
- High level of analytical and performance management skills and ability to pay attention to detail.
- Very good project and change management skills.

Job Title: Chief Strategy Officer
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- To identify, develop and execute business growth opportunities for the Company across its business lines
- Responsible for evaluating market forecasts and long-term trends, collect competitive intelligence, drive cross-functional business processes and maintain business model innovation.
Strategic Planning & Alignment:
- Develop inclusive strategic plan and strategy by collaborating with leadership team, board and executive.
- Adapt the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) methodology steps and timelines to the Company’s operating environment, management style, corporate culture and resources.
- Ensure the corporate mission, vision and values and strategic objectives continually reflect the needs, values and service level requirements of the Company’s shareholders, clients and other stakeholders; and initiates and leads strategy adjustments/reviews as necessary.
- Reach out to key stakeholders for their meaningful input and involvement in the annual strategic planning process.
- Ensure organisational risks prioritized through the Risk Register are addressed in strategic and business planning and are communicated to internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with the Head, Corporate Services to cascade the organisational strategy to departmental business plans and individual Employee Performance Scorecards, as well as monitoring and reporting on the progress of strategic initiatives.
- Prepare documentation, materials and presentations reporting to executive management and internally to all staff on progress of strategy execution.
Business Development:
- Identifying key capital projects, joint ventures, and other strategic opportunities
- Assess business growth opportunities with new and existing clients
- Develop industry leads and network.
- Ensuring suitable metrics are in place to measure performance and progress.
- Communicating strategy effectively throughout The Company
- Supervise the business opportunity assessment process.
- Drive the business development process along all business lines.
- Drive relationship management with key stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, geopolitical events, supply and demand scenarios, changes in government policies, new projects etc. so that potential implications for the Company can be identified and necessary changes made.
- Create/enhance new business/existing business that will strengthen the Company’s position in the market.
- Monitor execution of business initiatives
- Oversee the innovation process: managing and reviewing the pipeline of new services and business ideas from concept formulation to product development
- Oversee the improvement of existing service lines and the development of new ones.
- Perform related duties as required.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree preferably in any business-related discipline.
- Possession of a relevant Postgraduate qualification where an MBA would be an added advantage.
- At least 12-15 years’ work experience in business, financial advisory or investment banking
- Added Advantage: Minimum of 3-5 years’ strategic experience in similar environment, management consulting or investment banking
- Knowledge of the Nigerian oil and gas industry and exposure with its logistics value chain
- Strong Financial Acumen
- Fluent in Technology advances
- Highly sociable and interpersonal skills
- Possession of good appreciation and understanding of strategic and business planning frameworks, principles and techniques.
- High level of analytical and performance management skills and ability to pay attention to detail.
