Job Title: Recruitment Coordinator

Location: Lagos

Description of the Role

  • The recruitment coordinator will have thorough knowledge of recruitment best practices and will be responsible for attracting candidates, screening resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews and providing support to OPL candidates on their jobs.
  • Ultimately, this individual should be able to manage the full recruitment cycle and ensure OPL always meets its clients’ requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Recruitment Coordinator will be required to do the following:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of each client’s hiring needs and meet competitive hiring goals and expectations
  • Write and post job descriptions on career websites, newspapers and universities boards
  • Build a robust pool of prospective candidates by partnering with universities, employment agencies and internet sites.
  • Evaluate and screen resumes and cover letters.
  • Shortlist and schedule interviews for candidates
  • Conduct phone, Skype and/or in-person interviews
  • Maintain a complete record of interviews and new hires
  • Facilitate reference checks, background checks and salary negotiations
  • Maintain information in OPL’s CRM and applicant tracking system
  • Attend job fairs and career events
  • Keep abreast of innovative recruiting methods and technology.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience working as a recruiter
  • B.Sc Degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology or relevant field
  • Impeccable organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively
  • Confident, articulate and effective communicator (verbal and written)
  • Strong business analytical skills with the ability to develop high quality and focused presentations
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Good project management skills
  • Excellent team player
  • Ability to work in a start-up environment
  • Ability to prioritize and complete projects within deadline
  • Solid knowledge of recruiting policies and best practices
  • Hands-on experience with various selection processes like phone interviews and reference checks
  • Familiarity with HR databases, applicant tracking systems and candidate management systems
  • Prior experience in start-up projects, NGOs and development organizations/initiatives is a plus

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Interior Design

Location: Lagos

Job Description
The Quantity Surveyor will oversee the following activities:

  • Preparing various documents including budgetary estimates, bill of quantities, costs estimates and other documentation
  • Overseeing the costing and billing of a project
  • Managing vendor and supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability
  • Negotiating with vendors and suppliers on an ongoing basis
  • Liaising with other construction professionals, including project managers and architects, to advise on requirements of a contract
  • Handling contractual correspondences, vetting contract documents and awarding contracts up to an agreed sum
  • Tracking changes to the design and construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly
  • Utilizing software to calculate, record, and track inventory and estimates.
  • Identifying potential financial or construction risks
  • Inspecting site and collating information including but not limited to statement of claims from contractor, anticipated claims from contractor, assessment of costs of works and expected final cost
  • Analyzing completed projects to determine ROI and compare costs
  • Aiding the improvement of current processes; establishing and implementing new processes, procedures and best practices where necessary
  • Performing other related duties as may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in quantity surveying services with a proven track record of delivering cost benefits
  • Prior experience working on interior design projects
  • Excellent team player with the ability to work independently and through own initiative
  • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
  • Thorough understanding of contract administration
  • Experience in compiling and following strict budgets
  • In-depth understanding of construction materials, pricing, and industry
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to focus on critical elements and, at the same time, remain mindful of the big picture
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Good working knowledge of Auto CAD and Excel
  • Ability to optimize all aspects of a project’s life cycle including costs and value management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to express complex ideas in simpler terms
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a clear assessment of requirements and priorities
  • Recognized qualifications such as Chartered status would be an advantage.
