Job Title: Registrar

- The Governing Council, Paul University. Awka hereby announces that the position of Registrar of the University is vacant
- The Governing Council, therefore, invites suitably qualified candidates with relevant experience in University Administration to apply.
The Job
- The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration work of the University except as regards matters for which the Bursar is responsible
- The Registrar shall, by virtue of his office, be Secretary to the Governing Council, Senate, Congregation, Convocation and their Committees
- The Registrar also serves as the custodian of the University seal and other legal documents of the University
Qualifications and Experience
- The candidate for the post of Registrar is required to possess a good honours Degree and to be a practical manager human and material resources.
Specifically, the candidate is expected to:
- Be a distinguished, focused and dynamic University Admistrator of a rank not lower than the level of Deputy Registrar with at least 5 (five) years on that status
- Be a seasoned administrator well rooted in the finest administrative traditions of a University
- Have a grasp of Information and Communication Technology skills.
- Be humane and a person of courage, who can influence administrative decisions in the interest of the University
- Be a person of proven integrity with ability to give administrative leadership and build bridges between staff of the Registrar’s Department and other staff of the University, and between staff and students
- Be sound physically and mentally to be able to perform effectively on the job
- Be 67 years of age or younger.
Salary and Conditions of Service
- The conditions of service of the Registrar are as applicable to the post of Registrar in Paul University, Awka and are on such terms as to emoluments of the office as the Governing Council may determine.
Job Title: Vice Chancellor
Location: Awka, Anambra
Description
- The Governing Council Paul University, Awka hereby announces that the position of Vice Chancellor of the University will soon be vacant
- In accordance with the provisions of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Decree 1993, Decree No. 11 As amended, the Council directs that applications be invited from suitably qualified and distinguished Professors with cognate experience in University teaching, research and administration.
The Job
- The Vice Chancellor is the Chief Executive and Chief Academic Officer of the University as well as the Chairman of Senate and Member of the Governing Council
- He is responsible to Council in matters of policy implementation in the area of finance, property/facilities, general administration and good governance of the Institution
- The Vice Chancellor is also responsible to Senate, administration of academic programme and student discipline, in consonance with extant rules and regulations.
The Candidate
- The candidate for the post of Vice Chancellor is required to be a Professor with relevant professional qualifications and should be a proven manager of human and material resources.
Specifically, the candidate shall be expected to:
- Be highly distinguished and self-motivated academic personnel of the rank of professor with ability to provide academic leadership (Management and Administration)
- Be a successful scholar well rooted in the finest academic traditions
- Be a successful academic personnel who has attained a position of distinction and excellence in his or her chosen field of study
- Be a person with good grasp of information and communication, technology skills and appreciated its significance in the contemporary knowledge industry
- Be a person of courage but humane, who can take decisive actions on the merit of facts and principles, and not on the basis of sentiments or pressures from individuals and groups
- Possess high reputation nationally and internationally and be able to command respect of national and international academic communities through his or her track records
- Be a person of proven integrity and administrative leadership so as to successfully lead a group of our well informed and articulate academic community
- Possess ability to create the needed bridges between the University Community on one hand and its stake-holders on the other hand and be above petty ethic, religious and local loyalties and biases
- Be able to perform any other lawful duties and responsibilities as may from time to time be directed by Council.
Salary and Conditions of Service
- The salary and Conditions of Service are as applicable to the post of Vice Chancellor in Paul University, Awka, and as may be determined by the Government/Council from time to time.
Job Title: University Librarian
Location: Awka, Anambra
Description
- The Governing Council Paul University Awka hereby announces that the position of University Librarian is vacant
- The Governing Council therefore invites suitably qualified candidates with relevant experience to apply.
The Job
- The University Librarian is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the University Library and the Coordination of all Library Services in the University and its Campuses, Faculties and Departments as well as Institutes.
Qualifications
- Candidates for the Post of University Librarian are to possess good honours Degrees, Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Library Science or Library and Information Science from recognized Universities.
Experience:
- The University Librarian should have a minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualification experience in the University System or other related establishments.
Advantage:
- The possession of Chartered Membership of the Nigerian Library Association will be an advantage.
Salary and Conditions of Service
- The conditions of service for the University Librarian are on the terms and emoluments applicable as may be determined by the Governing Council of the University.
