Job Title: Media and Communications Specialist

Job Description

• We are looking for a young and vibrant individual to fill the position of a Media and Communications Specialist that will manage and improve all communication flow within and outside the company.
• As an organization, our mission is to change the African agricultural narrative by building successful Agripreneurs through increased access to information, markets, resources and affordable Agtech products. Our vision is to be Africa’s foremost hub and catalyst for Agricultural technology innovations.
• The communications specialist will work with the Team Lead to craft and develop a suitable brand for the organization and ensure that our values of Integrity, Excellence, Accountability, Innovation, Collaboration reflect in every facet of the organization.
  

Required Skills and Experiences

• A degree in Communications, Public Relations, or similar relevant field
• 2-3 years previous working experience as communications specialist
• Ability to break down complex concepts and terminologies in simple language.
• Experience and knowledge in creating website and social media content
• Excellent portfolio with proven track record in creative writing
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Up-to-date with the latest trends, strategies and technologies in digital influencing.
• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
• Some graphic design skills and ability to develop simple infographics is a plus.
• The ideal candidate has a flair for creativity, innovative systems and ideas.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support and guidance to project team to ensure project and donor communications obligations are met
• Develop key messages, press releases, and statements for external audiences, in response to evolving events.
• Participate in relevant communications-related working groups with local and international organizations and associations in Nigeria.
• Create contents – multimedia and visual resources, maximizing the use of internal communications platforms, and increasing program and impact visibility.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of a digital communications resources – fact sheets, success stories, lessons learned, communiqué’s, and any other relevant materials
• Inform and support learning activities, including field visits, focus groups, workshops, roundtables, and other events
• Research & Proposal Support
