Deinde Odusanya & Co. was registered, under the Companies and Allied Matters Decree 1990, as No LAZ.036178 on 23rd July, 1996 and is currently situated at 6b, Ireti Street, Sabo, Yaba, Lagos. The firm was registered with the main objective of utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach to its Accountancy, Assurance Advisory, Taxation and Economic Consulting services in order to provide its clients with an integrated means of meeting their needs and achieving their objectives.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: External Audit Senior

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • Planning and execution of audit fieldwork and statutory reporting;
  • Project management of all aspects of audit including agreeing audit timelines, team briefings and supervision, and delivery of audit work;
  • Demonstration of excellent knowledge of the audit of financial statement in line with International Accounting Standards (“IAS”) and International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) financial statements; relevant International Standards on Auditing (“ISA”); key audit tools software, including case ware, Microsoft Office, Most especially Ms Excel, Ms PowerPoint, Ms Word and any other suitable software;
  • Delivering full audit reports and working paper for review in soft copy, fully hyperlinked, containing other review tools and; creating and maintaining hardcopy back-up files;
  • Budgeting and monitoring the financial performance of engagement, focusing on optimising profitability;
  • Identifying, researching and helping to resolve complex audit issues;
  • Reporting to audit managers and partners on all salient points arising from audits;
  • Supervising and coaching junior members of staff to help them realise their full potential;
  • Keeping up to date with the company’s service offerings and identifying the potential clients that will help the firm to grow its business;
  • Working on audit tenders and working as part of the relevant independence team on these tenders. Tasks may include: reviewing engagement records, analysing and categorising the records, contacting partners for engagement information, preparing data, drafting independence reports, etc;
  • Working on specific audit related engagements across the audit function or other engagements of the Firm, as may be assigned by Management.

Educational Requirement and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in discharging the above listed duties.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related fields;
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related fields is an added advantage
  • Professional certificate in Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (“ICAN”) is required; (Candidate without ICAN professional qualification and certification should not apply).
  • Demonstration of practical knowledge of IFRS and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”), IAS, ISA.

Job Title: Accounting Services Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • Carrying out Financial Reporting functions of the Company and Client’s accounting services;
  • Carrying out all management accounting functions, including the preparation of management accounts and reports;
  • Developing and applying management performance reporting templates and performance measurement reports for the Company and for its Clients;
  • Managing Cash flows for the Company and its Clients using sage evolution software, Microsoft Office, Most especially Ms Excel, Ms PowerPoint, Ms Word and any other suitable software;
  • Monitoring and evaluating of the financial performance of the Firm and all its Profit and Cost Centres;
  • Providing accounting support services to Units within the Firm and its Clients;
  • Compiling and analysing financial data for the preparation of financial statements, management control and accounting reports etc. at agreed intervals;
  • Ensuring financial information and records are maintained, safeguarded, stored and managed using available hardware and software (SAGE Evolution), applications, technology and other resources in compliance with firm standards, policies and procedures;
  • Ensuring that all reporting deadlines are met;
  • Establishing, monitoring and maintaining suitable accounting control procedures;
  • Resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities;
  • Preparing budgets and forecasts, variances analysis and related activities;
  • Developing and maintaining financial data bases;
  • Ensuring accurate recording and analysis of assets, liabilities, revenues and expenses;
  • Analysing business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues; and
  • Analysing of financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.

Job Title: Driver

Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive the company vehicle for official trips (Local and Inter-state), or as requested by your supervisors;
  • Maintain high standard in the discharge of duties;
  • Ensure punctuality and timelines in delivery of task assigned;
  • Observe the road traffic laws and regulations and keep up to date on new traffic law;
  • Ensure that safe driving practices are adhered to including local driving codes and internally agreed standards;
  • Ensure Company’s vehicle is kept clean, tidy and in good working condition at all times;
  • Ensure Company’s vehicle is kept secured at all times;
  • Ensure Company’s vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks: check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc;
  • Keeps record of vehicle repairs scheduled and ensure they are carried out properly by official auto mobile mechanics;
  • Keep proper record of daily trip (Local and Inter-state) and submit same to the supervisor;
  • Ensure there is adequate fuel in the Company’s vehicle at all times;
  • Assist the Administrative Officer to ensure vehicle insurance and registration is updated accordingly and as at when due.

Education Requirement

  • SSCE result with 6 credits is required.

Job Title: Senior Tax Consultant

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • Manage the Firm’s Taxation Advisory Unit which involves drawing up workable programme and timetables, directing other tax advisory members;
  • Coordinate and execute all Taxation engagements in both computerized and manual environments;
  • Display excellent understanding of Nigeria and International Tax Law;
  • Use of Taxation and Transaction Advisory tools and software including Microsoft Office, Most especially Ms Excel, Ms PowerPoint, Ms Word and any other suitable software;
  • Respond to queries from tax regulatory authorities i.e. Federal Inland Revenue Service (“FIRS”) and respective State Boards of Internal Revenue (“SBIR”);
  • Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and individual clients;
  • Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates;
  • Research and analyse a wide range of tax issues related to business transactions and tax implications of financing techniques for a variety of entities and their affiliates;
  • Process and obtain corporate and personal tax clearance certificates for the firm and its clients, as it may apply;
  • Coordinate FIRS and relevant SBIR audits of clients;
  • Ensure clients’ compliance with the various tax policies and regulations;
  • Conduct research on various tax stay awake issues;
  • Computation of all Taxes (PIT, CIT, VAT PAYE etc.); and
  • Ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of records and procedures;

Essential Skills And Educational Requirement

  • First degree in Accounting, Finance or any other business-related field;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in all aspect of Tax Advisory Services;
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related fields is an added advantage;
  • Professional certificate in Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (“ICAN”) is required; (Candidate without ICAN professional qualification and certification should not apply);
  • Demonstration of practical knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP; and
  • Professional Certification in CITN is an added advantage
