General Position Summary

- Under the guidance of the IT Systems Administrator, undertake the repairing and maintaining of LAN-s, internet systems and general IT maintenance and training– as per needs outlined by the Field Manager and Operations Officer.
- Oversee repair of computers and IT equipment at a local level, when possible – facilitate and advise on best, safest and most economical solutions in consultation with the IT Systems Administrator.
- Maintain an efficient Local Area Network for Mercy Corps office. Do not change the current design of configurations without written approval after analysis by the IT Systems Administrator and the Head of Office. Current designs are appropriate for the programmatic needs for the office and any additions or changes require prior approval and planning.
- Identify equipment and accessories required for the smooth functioning of computers and IT equipment in Mercy Corps offices. Facilitate the purchase of items through the Procurement Department.
- Maintain the Mercy Corps mail server and assign addresses as instructed by IT Systems Administrator.
- Assist in administration functions as needed; assist logistics staff in inventorying and tracking IT assets.
- Maintain proper documentation of all IT equipment including; system profiles, warranties and IT stock / accessories; Organize and maintain a central filing system of satellite systems in MC office.
- Assist in the identifying specification, relocation and assembly of any equipment including computers, printers, accessories and satellite systems in all offices, as required.
- Conduct himself / herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission.

Program / Department Summary
- As a member of the operations department, responsible for the support of Mercy Corps programming in the Gombe / Yola, ensure the smooth movement of people, material and documents throughout the region. Following procedures as outlined in the Mercy Corps Manual.
General Position Summary
- The Operations Assistant is responsible for providing support to logistics units for MC Offices according to procedure and process of Operations requirements.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Office Management:
- Organising and managing the stocks and stores of office and GH’s supplies and stationery.
- Facilities management and supervision of cleaners / cooks.
- Assist in preparation of monthly operations reports.
- Responsible for maintaining the stock of admin supplies and stationery and issue as required.
- Facilitate with admin support to training, conferences and regular meetings for MC staff in MC offices.
- Assist in managing and organizing power supplies and MC generators in offices / GH’s.
- Ensures regular maintenance of Mercy Corps rented premises, including office and guesthouses.
- Initiate admin related purchases. Work with the procurement team to ensure timely procurement.

Asset Management:
- Directly responsible for asset inventory management (receiving, counting, reporting, tracking) in coordination with the Operation officer and country asset controller.

Fleet:
- Assist in facilitating movements of people and commodities across Mery Corps Nigeria offices.

- Organizing and managing the stock/ commodities of warehouses.

Procurement:
- Work with procurement when acquiring Quotations for purchases as needed.
- Assist in purchasing items required for office operations.

- University degree preferable, institute degree is also considered in administration / logistics or relevant experience.

- The Procurement Department is committed to implementing and maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and integrity in the purchase of goods and services.
- The overriding objective for all Mercy Corps procurement activity is the prompt and effective provision of materials and services to Mercy Corps’ beneficiary populations in compliance with donor specifications.
General Position Summary
- The Procurement Assistant is responsible for facilitating the procurement aspects of Mercy Corps’ logistic operation. Working closely with Programs, Administration, Finance and Logistics, the Procurement Assistant is instrumental in supporting program activities through his / her services.
Essential Job Functions
Procurement management:
- Daily coordination of MC procurement activities.
- Has a full understanding of MC procurement policies and formats. Assists, as needed in training staff on these policies.
- Assists staff as needed on creating clear and understandable purchase requests and other documentation.
- Collects quotations and bids from the market for PR’s as assigned by the Operations Officer – as per Mercy Corps standards and formats.
- Interact with Vendors during collection of quotations – explain Mercy Corps formats and ensure that vendors will use the provided forms.
- Ensure fair competition and strictly adhere to MC procurement rules regarding vendor relations as described below:
- Always accord prompt and courteous reception and fair and equal treatment to all vendors / suppliers and their representatives.
- Provide equal opportunity for vendors/suppliers to make price and specification quotations.
- Guarantee the confidentiality of all specifications and price quotations made by vendors / suppliers.
- Decline to take advantage of vendors / suppliers’ errors, and show consideration for vendors / suppliers’ difficulties by co-operating with them whenever possible.

Program / Department Summary
- Mercy Corps has been present in Nigeria since December 2012, focusing its interventions on adolescent girls’ empowerment, economic development and conflict mitigation. In mid-2014 Mercy Corps has decided to address the rising humanitarian needs among displaced households and vulnerable host communities by in northeast Nigeria and started its humanitarian program.
- With funding from humanitarian donors including OFDA, FFP, EU and ECHO the humanitarian program has been focusing on food assistance, non-food items distribution, protection, livelihoods support, WASH and capacity building of humanitarian response actors.
- All Mercy Corps interventions in Nigeria are implemented in a conflict and gender-sensitive manner.
General Position Summary
- The Operations Officer provides day-to-day support to the program operations in Yola, under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager based in Abuja.
- As part of his / her responsibilities, the Operations Officer will undertake tasks under procurement, administration, logistics and security working in close collaboration with the finance and program teams based in Yola.
- S / he will promptly and effectively provide all required support to programs so to deliver the assistance to beneficiaries in a timely, compliant and transparent manner.
Essential Job Functions
Procurement:
- Read and has a clear understanding of the Mercy Corps FP3 and all procedures;
- Lead Mercy Corps daily Procurement Activities in Yola Office to meet program and country mission objectives promptly and accordance with Mercy Corps guidelines and donor regulations;
- Possesses a full understanding of MC procurement policies and formats. Provide training to new staff on these policies and provided refresher training as the gap in staff knowledge are identified;

- Conduct a regular market survey at least every quarter with coordination and support from Field Manager in Yola;

- Participates in regular assets inventory and checks.
- Ensures that all the assets are maintained and in good condition. Check assets stickers regularly;
- Maintain inventories of Mercy Corps premises (non-expandable properties) conduct regular checks (quarterly);
- Advise Field Manager on any broken, damaged or destroyed equipment;
Fleet:

- Ensure that all vehicles are safe and road-worthy;

Administration:
