Job Title: Business Manager
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
- The business manager will be primarily responsible for business development and sales.
- Thus, he would be filling an essential role in creating and enhancing opportunities for optimizing revenue sustainably for company in all business opportunities relating to company’s areas of strategic focus, organizing to make company’s lighting products available in all relevant retail channels within the defined coverage area and also ensuring the sell-out of company products from the retail channels.
Business Development:
- Generating leads for possible sales.
- Network with other businesses and agencies that are tied to your industry; establish a support group.
- Participate in workshops, seminars, trade shows and exhibitions to keep up to date on changes in the industry.
- Engage with company’s channel partners and other strategic partners to achieve growth for company by identifying business opportunities, breakthrough ideas and new trade channels.
- Identify potential markets and develop new trade channels within Nigeria for company.
- Report on activities and outcome of activities.
- Manage the proposal development process.
- Maintain company’s Business Development databases and activities.
- Support marketing activities, including trade/technical shows, exhibitions etc.
- Investigate the economic conditions surrounding company’s business activity e.g. industry trend and competition.
Sales:
- Design and development of a Sales structure to realise the revenue objectives of the company
- An understanding and a detailed database of the distribution opportunities within the coverage area.
- Development of product interest within the prospective distribution channels.
- Training of trade channels on the Features and Benefits of the product, merchandising and other processes that will help with the sell-out of company’s products.
- Assisting the trade channels with their sell-out process by:
- Helping the trade partners to better understand their customers and competitors.
- Suggesting marketing programmes to either the partners or to company to help attract the consumers to the trade partners.
- Helping the trade partners with their business plans – products, inventory management, credit, ordering process, selling and organization.
- Participate in promotional activities within the coverage area.
- Manage objections between company and trade partners as well as between trade partners and consumers.
- Support business development activities within the coverage area.
- Report on activities and results of activities.
- Recruit, train and supervise company sales agents within coverage area.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate in Marketing, Business, or other related field, or equivalent experience.
- About 5 years experience in similar industry or on same role.
- Experience in B2B and B2C new business sales and marketing
- Experience in local advertising and other vertical markets.
Skills:
- Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges.
- Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in marketing.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and flexibly.
- Capacity to prioritise and work across multiple projects.
- Organisational skills with the ability to deliver a high volume of quality work.
- Creative skills for contributing new and innovative ideas.
