Job Description
Legal Counsel (Commercial) who can contribute to CAF’s overall success by effectively managing the following duties:
- Draft and conduct further legal assistance in negotiation & interpretation of broad range of agreements, including sponsoring, licensing, service provider, Bidding & Hosting and IP-related agreements
- Assist with the CAF Rights Protection Programme in relation to CAF Events
- Support in General legal services
- Assist in the continuous development of CAF Marketing Regulations
- Handle and monitor international commercial litigation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law
- Master’s Degree in Law is an asset
- Preferably 1 to 2 years expertise in commercial legal practice “on the job” in the sports rights industry, on in-house legal department or a reputable law firm engaged in sponsoring and licensing rights
- Professional experience of working and drafting legal documents, in particular contracts in English and French languages
- Fluent in English and French
- Ability to transfer profound legal knowledge into commercially oriented solutions
- Good communication & negotiation skills
- Service and solution orientated personality with keen perception of legal, commercial / marketing and policy related implications.

- Perform Governance Workshops to raise awareness of compliance issues

Requirements

- Familiar with key compliance program components, such as Compliance risk assessment, due diligence, training and policy implementation
- 5+ years of experience in compliance or related field (risk management or advisory experience, audit, finance or legal) with understanding of structure and
- needs of an effective compliance programs

- Experience in preparing explanatory documents or compliance reports and presenting to senior executive team members

- Setting the mission and vision of the IT organization to ensure realization of business objectives

- Determining long-term organization-wide technology needs and developing strategies to respond to them

Requirements
- Master’s degree or similar higher education, in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
- 15+ years overall IT experience and a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience leading multi-discipline IT teams of significant size

- Experience leading the reorganization and transformation of an IT organization; proven ability to take IT to the next level
- Excellent knowledge of IT concepts, technologies, infrastructures and systems

- Research and analyse relevant developments in the arbitration scene and identify and suggest necessary amendments to current practices or to CAF regulations
- Hold workshops with CAF employees, member associations or confederations on CAS-related issues
- Represent and enhance CAF’s image
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law or J.D. degree
- Master’s Degree in International Sports Law is an asset
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in international sports arbitration
- Fluent in English and French
- Good knowledge of football governance as well as of CAF’s regulations, International Arbitration and proven experience in CAS proceedings
- Admission to practice law (Bar) for at least 3 years
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Good analytical skills.
