Job Title: Mechanical Technician

Job Description
- Under general guidance of the department Workshop Fore-men and / or Supervisor, this position ensures the company can deliver the operational capability required to provide sustainable and competitive business advantage
Key Responsibilities
- The key impact of these incumbents will be the maintenance of operational efficiencies in the terminal to ensure availability of equipment required for the execution of day to day operational activities.
- Receive and execute instructions and decisions from the Workshop Fore-men and / or Supervisor;
- Ensures that the maintenance, breakdown services and / or mechanical repairs of port vehicles & equipment are maintained in a cost-effective manner, with consideration given to quality work and longevity of equipment.
- Follows safety and health rules and regulations.
- Assist in maintenance of a safe working environment;
- Participate on Daily Safety Toolbox Talks with the teams
- Understand and applies LOTO system for day-to-day assigned jobs
- Understand assigned tasks and execute according existing procedures
- Reads work order and execute assigned work(s) according procedures.
- Must read and understand the mechanical drawings of all equipment in the terminal.
- Perform major mechanical repairs such as assembling, dismantling and overhaul of equipment components such as differentials, hydraulic pumps, engines, transmissions etc.
- Carries out mechanical maintenance and repair service for all vehicles & port equipment.
- Performs mechanical maintenance or replaces hoses, fittings, other subassemblies
- Disassembles units and inspects equipment.
- Installs new / refurbishes differentials, hydraulic pumps, engines, transmissions etc.
- Replaces and adjusts mechanical relating to belts, pulleys etc
- Determine cause of failure of mechanical components of yard equipment & service machines.

Job Title: MHC & RTG Electrical Technician

Job Description
- To repair, fault find and diagnose electrical and electronic faults on Mobile Harbor Cranes (MHC), Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG), Spreaders (SP) and other equipment in compliance with Code of Practice in the most cost-effective manner.
- Ensuring optimum availability and reliability of equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out all maintenance repairs and modifications on MHC, RTG, SP and other plant and equipment in accordance with the requirements of the Code of Practice and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Ensuring high standards are maintained.
- To evaluate and analyse the nature, cause and perform the repairs of breakdowns. Determining the optimal way of dealing with the problem, to achieve a quality and cost-effective solution, as well as minimal downtime and maximum Operational availability of MHC, RTG, SP and other equipment.
- Use sound knowledge of rigging procedures to recover equipment from quay and yard due to accidents as efficiently as possible, ensuring minimal delays to operations.
- Have sufficient knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act. Enforce safe working procedures, for the purpose of safety of employees and people around you.
- To carry out repairs to defects as per Examiners defect list.
- To ensure safe working and minimize breakdowns to machinery and equipment.
- Advise MHC & RTG Fore-man and or MHC & RTG Supervisor on concerns relating to unreliable equipment;
- Perform other related functions required from time to time such as assistance with major emergency work;
- Ensure adherence to established safety practices in the execution of assignments and in the use of tools, equipment and machinery.

- The Facility Coordinator will work closely with the Facilities Manager to support all Terminal facilities maintenance activities and ensure that optimal working environment is provided within the terminal by providing full maintenance services as well as promoting safety conditions.

- Assist in facility maintenance of a safe working environment;

- Understand and applies LOTO system for day-to-day assigned jobs
- Assist the Facilities Manager in all aspects of the facility project implementation as needed
- Provide and supervise maintenance and repair services for buildings, air condition systems, electrical systems, water distribution systems, water-proofing, sewage lines, drains of all buildings, yard pavement, drain cleaning, yard marking and painting, road repairs.
