Job Title: IRS Engineer

Location: Rivers

Job Summary
Assist in the offshore operation and maintenance of:

  • Light Well Intervention Pressure Control Equipment.
  • Well Abandonment Equipment.
  • Primary position occupied in North Sea region with possibility of temporary assignment to other Helix locations worldwide.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Under authority of the shift Supervisor, the Intervention Services Technician shall:
  • Continue to develop subsea equipment, operational knowledge and demonstrate knowledge when required to do so.
  • Participate with minimal guidance in the sequence of events required in the mobilization and hook up of company owned property.
  • Operate equipment in line with Company policy, procedures and requirements of Well program.
  • Assist in the improvement of current operational procedures and equipment specification.
  • Maintain equipment as described in Planned Maintenance system autonomously.
  • Follow, understand and challenge (where required) written and verbal instructions in line with operations offshore.
  • Continue to develop general offshore skill set (environmental awareness, well control, rigging & lifting, risk assessment, reporting, radio communication and offshore etiquette).
  • Attend training and obtain accreditation in line with competence level required for the position.
  • Be available for work as and when required when given appropriate notice of requirement.

Experience/Background

  • NC Mechanical Engineering Or recognized City & Guilds apprenticeship.

Job Title: Third Engineer

Location: Rivers

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understudy the Second Engineer.
  • Have understanding and comply with all relevant sections of the Company’s policies and Management System.
  • Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment for which the
  • Engineering Department has responsibility.
  • Diligently carry out, in a safe and efficient manner, any task which has been directed by a Senior Officer.
  • Assist with overhaul, maintenance and survey work as directed by a Senior Officer.
  • Ensure that any information they enter in the ER log, maintenance records, water condition logs and other records, shall be accurate.
  • Will notify the Second Engineer of spare gear and consumable requirements as applicable.
  • Keep the First Engineer fully informed as to the progress of any work which they have undertaken.
  • Shall inform the Second Engineer of any defects or problems in his allocated area of responsibility.
  • Complete comprehensive hand-over notes encompassing work carried out that may affect the relieving Engineer.
  • Review the Safety Notices, Marine Circular Correspondence files and the Offshore Management
  • System Amendment files in the current version of the Offshore Management System CD Rom, upon joining and re-joining the vessel.
  • Any other duties assigned by the first Engineer.

Minimum Marine Qualifications & Experience
The Senior or sole Engine Room (ECR) Watchkeeper should have:

  • Second Engineer – III/3 or III/2, OOW – III/1 – STCW95.
  • An adequate knowledge and experience with the relevant class of vessel in accordance with Section 5 of the IMCA document, “The training and experience of key DP personnel”.

Job Title: Electro – Technical Officer

Location: Rivers

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance of the DP system, including thruster controls.
  • Have understanding and comply with all relevant sections of the Company’s policies and management system.
  • Responsible for operating, updating, and maintenance of the ships network.
  • Keep the OIM/Master and Senior DP watch keepers fully informed on matters affecting the DP system and will not undertake any work on the system without prior consultation and receipt of approval to conduct such work. This especially applies whilst the vessel is in any form of DP mode.
  • Notify the OIM/Master and keep them fully informed of the progress of any work which they have undertaken and shall notify the OIM/Master of any defects or problems that they have encountered in their area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for ensuring that a true and accurate record of work that has been carried out is kept and entered in the maintenance records and their  hand-over notes. This shall include ensuring that manuals and drawings pertaining to their area of responsibility are kept corrected and up to date, in the event of any modification.
  • Has overall responsibility for the efficient running of the vessel’s radio room.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all radio communication equipment, radars, and electronic navigation equipment. Note: On vessels with GMDSS equipment a shore based manufactures maintenance agreement is usually in force for this part of the radio system.
  • Responsible for ordering spares and stores for the Radio and Electronics Department, and liaising with the Storekeeper. In addition shall keep the OIM/Master fully informed of urgent spares requirements which would affect either statutory requirements and/or the safe operation of the DP system.
  • Assisting other departments as requested with electronic problems.
  • Responsibility for the general upkeep of HPR transponders and taut wire, this includes the updating of the HPR log ensuring that HRP transponders are kept fully charged by recharging or replacing the batteries (Supported by Chief Officer).
  • Responsibility for the general upkeep of the taut wire spool gear wires.
  • Any other duties assigned by Chief Engineer.

Job Title: Rig Manager

  • Review, understanding and comply with the Project Quality Plan/System and participation in setting worksite safety objectives and key performance indicators.

  • Review, understanding and comply with project procedures and equipment

Job Title: Deck Supervisor

Location: Rivers

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Meet daily with the Chief Officer.
  • Shall have understanding and comply with all relevant sections of the Company’s policies and management system.
  • Taking care of deck cargo operations and responsible for ensuring that the weather decks, cargo spaces and storerooms under his control are secure at all times.
  • Fulfil the maintenance requirements for deck machinery as directed by the Chief Officer and carry out planned maintenance procedures when required.
  • Shall keep the Chief Officer informed of the progress of any job he has undertaken, and any defects or problems encountered in his area of responsibility.
  • Attend the helideck as HLO during helicopter operations.
  • Attend forward or aft during berthing and un-berthing operations and secure anchors when clear of port.
  • Shall maintain an inventory of stores under his control and inform Chief Officer of any spare gear or consumables that are required.
  • Assist the project Crew as necessary, and liaise with the Chief Officer.
  • Maintain safety standards for the crew and deck areas.
  • Shall be familiar with his duties in an emergency situation and he must be aware of, and abide by
  • Company procedures, policies and instructions and ensure that those under his control also comply.
  • Act as Crane Operator and performs, when appropriate, at the start of each shift a visual examination of cranes as prescribed in company lifting policy.
  • Manage stock levels and the issuing and ordering of general consumable items in central stores.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Chief Officer.
  • Assist Chief Engineer monitoring lifting appliances, running gear, slings, shackles etc. including quarantine locker
  • Supervise deck operations and ensure that high, safe standards of rigging are maintained.
  • Ensure that all lifting rigging (shackles, slings, strops etc.) are in good condition and are certified prior to being put in use.
  • Ensure that clear, unambiguous directions are given to the Crane Driver during the movement of loads around the deck by the crane.
  • Ensure that the deck crew is briefed on the work scope and that they are fully aware of any safety.

  • Delegate or assign tasks to other maintenance team personnel as required

Job Title: Rig Superintendent

HSE expectations:

 

  • Demonstration of HSE Leadership at all times to all personnel aboard.

  • Review, understand and comply with the company Management System, ensuring crew also comply with Management System.
  • Understand and comply with the Helix MoC system and process.
  • Responsible for ensuring the crew execute the project activities using the safe systems work and safety tools required as per the Company’s Risk Management system, including but not limited to pre-shift meetings, TBTs, TOFS, ORs, Daily Drills and weekly safety meetings with their crew.
  • Active participation in Helix Risk Management process for all rig activities and that the risks and controls are communicated to all personnel, responsible for ensuring all personnel under their supervision are clear as regards their role.
  • Review the company’s Safety Notices on each occasion of joining the rig.
  • Comply with any written dispensation approval for any activity to be conducted which may be in breach of Company Policy, particularly regarding the Barrier Policy.
  • Responsible Person as per the requirements of Helix PTW system (op/saf/gen/1).
  • Ensure regular safety inspections and housekeeping/asset inspections are conducted and the standard and quality of the asset are maintained.
  • Report all damage and incidents to the Tool pusher and/or Rig Superintendent.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer and rig maintenance team to maintain rig equipment.
  • Instigate DROPS inspections, ensuring actions are corrected, reported & logged in the DROPS register as per the Company’s management system.
  • Conduct Emergency Disconnection Drills as instructed by the Tool pusher and/or Rig Superintendent, ensuring they are fully conversant in the operation and Cause and Effects.
  • Conduct Well Control Drills frequently to ensure that operations personnel are familiar with the  ESD procedures and Well Intervention contingency scenarios/actions.
  • Directly supervise all Well Control and critical activities.
  • Operation of all equipment at the Driller’s console in the WOCC.
  • Responsible for the adherence to WOUK & statutory Lifting procedures and requirements by all personnel under their supervision.

Job Title: Assist Driller

Location: Rivers

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Driller to Supervise Deck crew and 3rd Party/vendors on deck
  • Ensure that the Driller and Client are advised of all current and/or changing conditions.
  • Run and retrieve the riser, wellhead equipment and subsea intervention system.
  • Maintain all intervention equipment to a good safe working standard.
  • Under instruction from the Driller, conduct Emergency Disconnection Drill to ensure that all personnel are familiar with these operations and record the results.
  • Under instruction from the Driller, conduct Well Control Drills.
  • Ensure that well control equipment is correctly maintained, installed and pressure tested.
  • Take direction from the Rig Superintendent in all Well Control Operations.
  • Ensure that they have read appropriate Helix ESG Well Control Manual that includes the current Policies on Well Control & Barriers.
  • Request written dispensation from the Rig Superintendent for any operations that cannot be carried out under appropriate Helix ESG Well Control & Barrier Policies.
  • Conduct Pre-shift, TBT’s, TOFS, Daily drills, & weekly safety meetings with their crew Ensure that Helix
  • Health & Safety policies are communicated to and understood by all crew members.
  • In conjunction with the Driller ensure vessel Well Operations Personnel are being trained to meet the company’s training requirements.
  • Ensure that the appropriate logs and records are maintained.
  • Be competent to operate the MPT and associated MPT systems.
  • Directly supervise the opening and closing of the Intervention System and Subsea Tree.
  • Liaise with the ROV in all subsea operations.
  • Compile a daily worklist and organise & instruct crews of NS5 & general maintenance, cleaning and asset preservation where required.
  • Ensure, on an ongoing basis, that all parties under their supervision have clear and effective lines of communication as required, and will ensure that operations do not commence until this is in place and confirmed.

QHSE Duties & Responsibilities
The main responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out duties as directed by the Company Offshore supervisory personnel in accordance with Company QHSE policy and operational procedures, including the implementation of Task and Dive Plans;
  • Participation in offshore meetings, e.g. morning, safety, project briefings and wash-ups, etc;
  • Conduct good liaison between Company and Client Representatives;
  • Ensure Risk Assessments, JSA`s, TBTs have been conducted and recorded in accordance with Company procedures prior to any task being carried out also ensuring responsible person has instigated all identified control measures;
  • Ensure all personnel have safety awareness of any tasks to be conducted, particularly in regards to COSHH, manual handling, Working at Height, Environment and Lifting Operations and correct planning and corrective actions are in place;
  • Ensure LOTO procedure is implemented prior to any HV work and correct Competent and Responsible personnel are in place and identified.

Operational Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Operation, maintenance and repair of ROV/Trencher systems as directed by Shift Supervisor;
  • Conduct safe offshore operations including maintenance and repair of ROV/Trencher and auxiliary equipment ensuring correct, safe working practices are carried out;
  • Requisition spares and materials in a timely manner to maintain the minimum stock levels in the system inventory;
  • Check goods received against requisition and update inventory;
  • Ensuring that items dispatched from offshore location, whether for repair, warranty, or on demobilization are accompanied by the correct paperwork;
  • Performing/undertaking “on the job” training of personnel unfamiliar with the particular vessel, equipment or ROV in use, especially in terms of safe working practice;

  • Shall preferably be qualified in an engineering discipline to a minimum of HNC standard or time served technician with final City & Guilds certificate or equivalent;
  • Shall meet IMCA competence criteria by having satisfactorily completed the MTCS assessment as a Pilot
  • Technician 1 with a nominal minimum of 1 year offshore experience and 200 hours piloting;
  • Shall demonstrate technical and operational knowledge of ROV/Trenching systems;
  • Shall possess good knowledge of current safety and quality standards as applied to systems and their requirements in an offshore environment;
  • Shall demonstrate ability to correctly complete all necessary company documentation;

Onshore:

  • Conceptual engineering.
  • Assessing vessel days, equipment spreads and subcontractors required in regard to the scopes.

  • Identification of hazardous operations and engineered mitigations of same.
