Job Title: Finance Manager, Financial Reporting and Planning

Location: Lagos

Key Role

  • To facilitate accurate financial reporting for management reports, group reporting, and statutory financial statements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review of general ledger accounts to ensure transactions are complete and captured in line with relevant financial reporting standards.
  • Support month and year-end close process.
  • Adherence to the monthly closing checklist and closing calendar.
  • Timely completion of monthly management reports.
  • Ensure accurate preparation and submission of the HFM Report to Group.
  • Respond to financial reporting queries from the Group.
  • Assist in the provision of financial analysis suitable for decision making.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and projections.
  • Prepare the Annual Financial Statements.
  • Assist in ensuring timely completion of External Audits. Respond to queries from auditors and ensure the implementation of all recommendations raised during the audit.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis requests from the Finance Director.

Communications and Work Relationships:

  • Reporting to: Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Planning
  • Internal: All Staff
  • External: External Auditor.

Requirements
Academic Qualification:

  • First Degree in Finance / Accounting / Economics.

Experience:

  • Good working experience with Microsoft Office tools especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in the preparation of statutory financial statements.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong technical accounting skills including a deep understanding of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and its business application.
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills.
  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Attention to details
  • Highly organized and efficient
  • Big 4 audit firm experience highly desired.
  • Ability to research and report on various technical accounting issues.

Job Title: Finance Manager, Tax

Location: Lagos
Department: Finance

Key Role

  • Responsible for Tax functions within the Company by Leading the Tax team to facilitate efficient tax strategies to reduce the Company tax exposure while remaining compliant with generally accepted accounting principles and the law.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review of contracts before execution and follow through to ensure the appropriate taxes are applied and deducted.
  • Supervise the monthly payroll computation and advice on payment to relevant regulatory agencies as regards payroll deductions.
  • Analyze and evaluate the direct and indirect taxes, and levies and ensure remittances are done within the provided timeline to avoid the incidence of penalties and interest for non-compliance with tax obligations.
  • Ensure accuracy, quality and timely submission of monthly and annual tax filings, and periodic reporting obligations.
  • Manage tax audits effectively and efficiently through the appointed tax consultants’ end provide a measure to minimize the cost of compliance.
  • Ensure all reporting timelines are met.
  • Assist the Company to create tax strategies to reduce the Company tax exposure while remaining compliant with generally accepted accounting principles and the law.
  • Assisting the Company to interpret and understand tax laws and must occasionally explain tax law and its implications to the Company.
  • Working with the Company’s tax Consultants in preparation of information for tax filings and audits.
  • Preparing and filing taxes, financial planning, attending and participating in strategy meetings for the Company to understand tax implications of its actions.
  • Preparing presentations and reports on tax situations, reporting, and law, and researching and reviewing past tax filings.
  • Any other duty as may be directed by the Finance Director.

  • External: Banks, Vendors, Clients.

Academic Qualifications

  • A graduate of accountancy or any related discipline with a minimum of Second Class Upper/Upper Credit
  • Possession of an MBA/Master’s degree in relevant discipline will be an added advantage
  • Experience: ACA/ACCA qualified with at least 7 years of cognate experience.
