Job Description

  • PA duties can include everything from helping with time and daily management, scheduling of meetings, correspondence, and note-taking.
  • There’s huge scope and you may also have the chance to gain new skills such as social media, law and payroll.
  • And by working so closely with the management team, you will not only learn so much about the company but you will also play such an important role and gain so much experience in helping to run a business.
  • The personal assistant can also expect to answer phone calls, take notes, schedule meetings and send emails on behalf of your manager as well as organise events.
  • There is also great career progression for personal assistants.
  • You may start out as an administrative assistant but eventually you can progress to an executive assistant or company secretary.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a first point of contact: dealing with correspondence and phone calls.
  • Managing databases and filing systems.
  • Implementing and maintaining procedures/administrative systems.
  • Liaising with staff, suppliers and clients.
  • Collating and filing expenses.
  • Conducting research on behalf of the manager.
  • Managing diaries and organising meetings and appointments. Many PAs control access to the manager/executive.
  • Booking and arranging travel, transport and accommodation.
  • Organising events and conferences.
  • Reminding the manager/executive of important tasks and deadlines.
  • Typing, compiling and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence.
  • Organising the manager’s personal commitments including travel or childcare.
