Job Title: Vice-Chancellor

Location: South West, Nigeria

The Job

  • The Vice-Chancellor the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the University and ex-officio member of Council Among his/her other functions, the Vice-Chancellor shall:
    • At all times advise the Council on any matter affecting the finance and administration of the University
    • Be responsible to the Council for maintaining peace order and efficient management of the affairs of the University and ensuring the enforcement of the Law Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations of the University
    • Be responsible to Council for discipline in the University
    • Regulate the admission of students subject to the guidelines and procedures approved by the University Senate and other statutory organs of the University
  • The Vice-Chancellor is, by virtue of his office, a member of Council, Chairman of Senate, Chairman of the Congregation. Member of Colleges/Faculties and any other authority of the University set up by Statute and of any Board or Committee appointed by any of those bodies.
  • The success of his/her job will depend on ‘the ability to lead, motivate and inspire administrative associates, academic and non-academic staff as well as students and all other stakeholders to work toward the central purpose of the University as determined by the laws establishing the university

Qualifications
An applicant for the post of Vice-Chancellor of the University must possess the following qualities and qualification:

  • Be a university teacher with a PhD in the relevant field
  • Must have been a Professor for at least 10 years in a reputable institution of higher learning
  • Be an individual who, judging from his/her track record, shod command willing respect and loyalty of members of staff and students of the University
  • Be morally sound and of unimpeachable probity and integrity
  • Be a person who is physically and mentally fit in state of good health;
  • Be not more than 65 years old
  • Be a person of high academic standing arid reputation in his/her respective discipline;
  • Must be familiar and conversant with developmental, academic and other complex managerial problems of a large University
  • Have extensive and deep experience in all facets of University administration;
  • Be a person who commands respect nationally and internationally especially in academic circle

Tenure of Office/Terms of Appointment

  • The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for a term of four (4) years, and may-be eligible for re-appointment Hs terms and conditions of service shall be embodied ha contract under the seal of the University.
  • The remuneration and other conditions of service shall be as applicable to the post of Vice-Chancellor in Nigerian Universities and as may be determined by the Governing Council of the University from time to time.

 

Job Title: Deputy Vice Chancellor

Location: South West, Nigeria

Qualifications
An applicant for the post of Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University must possess the following qualities and qualifications:

  • Be a University teacher with a PhD in the relevant field;
  • Must have been a Professor for at least 8 years in a reputable institution of higher learning
  • Be morally sound and of unimpeachable probity and integrity;
  • Be a person who is physically and mentally ft n state of good health
  • Be not more than 65 years old
  • Be a person of high academic standing and reputation in his/her respective discipline
  • Must be familiar and conversant with developmental academic and other complex managerial problems of a large University
  • Have extensive and deep experience in all facets of University administration
  • Be a person who commands respect nationally and internationally especially in academic circle

Job Title: Bursar

Location: South West, Nigeria

The Job

  • The Bursar is a Principal Officer and is the Chief Financial Officer of the University responsible Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.
  • He/she should prod the University Management with appropriate advice and support for all the institutions financial transaction including investments.

Qualifications

  • Applicants for the post of University Bursar must have in the past exhibited considerable degree of competence responsiveness, demonstrable integrity and transparency on matters of financial administration and management
  • In addition candidates should demonstrate the ability to relate effectively with financial stakeholders
  • Prospective candidates must hold a minimum of Second-Class Upper Degree in Accounting or allied disciplines from a recognized University.
  • Possession of a Masters degree will be an added advantage. In addition, he/she must be a registered member of either of the underlisted professional bodies
  • Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)
  • Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)
  • Prospective candidates must show evidence of knowledge of ICT and its application at the highest level of efficiency in financial administration and management.
  • He/she must also satisfy the requirements for the appointment of non-academic staff in the University
  • The candidates should not be more than 60 years old.
  • The applicant must currently not be lower than the rank of a Chief Accountant and must have minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant experience five (5) of which must have been spent in a University

  • The University Bursar shall held office for a term four (4) years, and may be eligible for re-appointment. His terms and conditions of service shall be embodied in a contract under the seal of the University.
  • The remuneration and other conditions of service shall be as applicable to the post of Vice-Chancellor in Nigerian Universities and as may be determined by the Governing Council of the University from time to time.
