Meanwhile, job creation in the region is on the rise. The disconnect between work-ready youth and the employment market must be bridged.

Ready for Work – Project Scope
- The Ready for Work movement is a WAVE initiative birthed in 2017. Ready for Work is an advocacy movement for competency-based education and hiring practices by acting as a bridge between educators, employers, and government while engaging with local and global leaders in the education and youth employment space.
- Specifically, the movement promotes inclusive hiring for competencies rather than credentials or work experience and collaboration between educators and employers to make the curriculum more industry-relevant and transition work-ready youth into meaningful employment.
Position Summary
- The MB Communications Associate is responsible for developing and implementing a communication strategy that will support the Ready For Work Project.
- The Communications Associate will work within the Movement Building Unit and closely with the WAVE communications team to deliver desired results.
Position Responsibilities
The MB Communications Associate will support the Ready For Work Project by understanding the project objectives in order to develop and implement a creative and innovative communication strategy that will engage all its stakeholders:
- Have a firm grasp of project objectives and create a communication strategy to support the RFW advocacy project.
- Manage relationship with consultants and service providers
- Collaborate with the WAVE communication team to deliver results in line with agreed communications strategy
- Create a content calendar and editorial content for all RFW social media platforms/channels
- Setup and manage all social media platforms, including content creation, posting etc. according to agreed strategy
- Create content of success stories about competency-based learning and hiring using existing RFW data on training and employment.
- Implement strategy by creating various communication channels and creating engaging corporate communications content.
- Manage various communication platforms to actively engage stakeholders and develop content that will create awareness of the RFW project.
- Co-create content to ensure stakeholder alignment with RFW project strategy.
- Measure and analyse communication channels vs input
- Support project’s team with communication needs as required
- Profile collaborations between education and employment players (educators, employers, government) to promote education-to-employment connectedness.
- Develop and maintain digital mailing list for all project stakeholders and produce content/ publications highlighting project achievements and milestones.

- Communication – outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as demonstrated high competency as a writer and editor in English.
- Contributes to clear and open communication; explains complex matters in an informative, inspiring and motivational way.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with different teams
- Commits to results by owning tasks to the very end and demonstrates accountability by assuming responsibility for own actions but asks clarifying questions and for help when required.
