Brooks Advisory Services Limited – Our client is an international Preschool and Primary school that offers integrated, specially designed curriculum following the National Curriculum of England while taking into partnership our local environment using the Nigerian curriculum.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chef

Location: Lagos

Job Brief

  • The Chef will be responsible for preparing appetizing and nutritious meals according to standards and menus provided by the school, and also ensure the overall leadership and management of the school kitchenette.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure to constantly prepare appetizing and nutritious meals according to standards and menus provided by the school
  • Ensure the appropriate quantities of food based on portion control standards
  • Adhere to safety, security and sanitation procedures through direction provided by management
  • Properly clean and disinfect the kitchen environment.
  • Ensure that no one with signs of illness (including vomiting, diarrhea, open infectious skin sores), or who is known to be infected with bacteria or viruses that can be carried in food, is responsible for food handling
  • Adherence to food restrictions by parents and guidance
  • Ensure that any customization to the menu for children is done according to the school guidelines
  • Properly inform parents of all ingredients in the menu for allergy and food intolerance reasons
  • Maintain an inventory of items in the kitchen.
  • Provide and track all purchases and track actual expenses against weekly budget
  • For incidental purchases, shop for items in the most cost-effective manner to provide fresh fruits, vegetables and other foods.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • 2-3 years’ experience as a chef in private school or college dining
  • Minimum of HND in Food Science, Hospitality, Home Economics or any of its related field
  • Hospitality Degree, Catering Management or Certifications preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, cooking techniques and nutrition
  • Excellent knowledge of cooking with ingredient limitations
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Must reside within Victoria Island axis of Lagos or should be willing to relocate

 

Job Title: Head of School

Location: Lagos

Job Brief

  • The officeholder will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the school and it’s engagements, leading in the development and implementation of strategic, policy and developmental plans that ensure the school meets international standards while being responsible to the Management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management and successful operations of the school
  • Constantly create strategic ways to achieve the mission of the school while embracing the school purpose
  • Effectively updating the standard of education through a constant review of the Curriculum of England and the provision of extracurricular activities
  • Manage all members of staff and students, through the direct management of the school’s leadership team, ensuring that effective responsibility is delegated through an appropriate management structure
  • Develop strategies to constantly equip staffs to ensure that the school ‘s organization curriculum and resources enable everyone to achieve the highest possible standards
  • Monitor teacher’s plans, evaluate students’ classroom experience, track students’ attainment and evaluate progress towards meeting agreed targets
  • Responsible for promoting the aims and values of the school and ensure effective communications with all stakeholders, including staff, pupils, parents, the community served by the school, and relevant government agencies
  • Ensure all school’s teaching staff are committed to the school’s aims and are motivated and involved in the achievement of priorities and targets which the school sets for herself and provide the necessary support and guidance to implement the relevant action plans successfully
  • Stay up to date with the changes in government policy and wider educational practices
  • Support the busy and varied life of the school, attending its events and wider program of activities

Required Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows:

  • Minimum of B.Sc., B.Ed. or any Management relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience as a Head of School or its relevant experience
  • Professional Certification TRCN
  • Advanced degrees and trainings
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Must reside within Victoria Island axis of Lagos or should be willing to relocate.

 

Job Title: Driver

Location: Lagos

Job Brief

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the School vehicle, transporting staffs and students in a safe and timely manner.

Job Description

  • Obey traffic rules and use route navigation apps and knowledge of area
  • Ensure the vehicle is maintained consistently in the most ideal way
  • Ensure that vehicle documents are up to date
  • Ensure safe and accident-free driving
  • Keep all records including receipts for vehicle maintenance

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of HND in any related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years driving experience with sound knowledge of Lagos.
  • Valid Nigerian Driver’s License
  • Ability to communicate well (spoken and written)
  • Must reside within Victoria Island axis of Lagos or should be willing to relocate.
