Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Position Summary
- The Operations Manager oversees all operations as related to logistic, facilities and transportation
Reporting & Supervision:
- This position is located in Abuja, Nigeria, reporting to the Chief of Party.
Primary Responsibilities
- Establishes operations systems to ensure strong support for program goals.
- Works with the Chief of Party to review operations and objectives, and ensures all aspects of the project are compliant with USAID policies and Creative procedures.
- Identifies and trains staff to support operations.
- Provide oversight of vehicles logs, vehicle maintenance
- Identify vehicle needs and reviews drivers’ timesheet
- Customs clearance forNEI+ properties
- Establish, lead, and implement all logistics and operations process for the project, including drivers and security by strictly following all rules and regulations established by USAID, Creative Associates, and follow all stipulations established by Nigerian law.
- Coordinate transportation, permits, authorizations, insurance, loading and unloading of goods/materials, and financial allocation of related expenses under grants
- Manage project inventory
- Coordinate large-scale training/workshop and events for the project
- Oversee management of project vehicle fleet
- Serve as a key administrative and operational point to ensure project implementation runs smoothly and successfully.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience working on programs funded by international donors (preferably USAID)
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of USAID procurement rules and regulations required
- Three to five years of previous experience working in operations and administration of USAID programs
- Demonstrated ability to solve challenging and complicated logistical issues
- Experience with budgeting and cost analysis
- Experience managing procurement professionals
- Strong ability to use and develop commodity management tracking systems
- Strong communication skills; Fluency in English and local languages required.
Job Title: Deputy Chief of Party
Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Project Summary
- The Northern Nigeria Education Initiative Plus project (The Initiative) works to improve the quality of and access to education in Northern Nigeria, equitably and sustainably.
Position Summary
- The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) acts as the Chief of Party (COP) in the absence of the COP.
- The DCOP will be responsible for the management of the technical activities and implementation of the project and must be a Nigerian.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Education, Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies, etc. Five years of relevant international development experience in the education sector can be substituted for the Master’s degree.
- At least 7 years of demonstrated experience in the successful implementation of international development activities (this may include the 5 years of relevant international development experience noted as an equivalent for the Master’s degree). 3 years of this must have been in senior program management including direct supervision of professional and support staff.
- Preference to experience working in the education sector in Africa, particularly in Nigeria.
- Desired experience includes work in policy advocacy, monitoring and oversight, capacity development in the education sector, and experience in awarding and managing grants to local organizations to promote education-related goals.
- The candidate must be professionally proficient and fluent in written and spoken English. It is preferred, but not required, that-the-candidate-be conversant and fluent in written and spoken Hausa.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensures that program components are results-oriented, ensure high-quality deliverables and relevant and timely reporting;
- Manages the organizational and logistical aspects of the program to ensure it will achieve it’s the goals, outcomes, and benchmarks;
- Manages sub-awardees to ensure they deliver services on schedule;
- Ensures synergies and cohesion between the various components and activities; and
- Participates and engages in technical meetings and maintains positive relationships with government officials, partners, and implementing partners.

- This position reports to the Chief of Party.
