Job Title: Head, Underwriting
Location: Lagos
Job Description
- We seeks to engage a productivity-oriented professional who will collaborate with the executive management team, to improve the underwriting standards in alignment to local and international underwriting regulations, taking into cognizance, underwriting policies, guidelines, rating manual and insurance regulations
Duties/Responsibilities
- Review and possibly revamp of the Company’s insurance policies to determine acceptability of risk in accordance with the company’s guidelines and standards.
- Leads underwriting, structuring, revisions and closing of amendments, upsizes and extensions as needed including annual reviews.
- Provide sound underwriting philosophies and discipline across all company business lines and demonstrate operational effectiveness in dealing with claims in accordance with company regulations aimed at meeting customer expectations
- Set appropriate pricing for all key products in all channels and risk classes so as to ensure that Company is meeting its stated strategy of underwriting to achieve profit in all products and across all distribution channels
- Innovate product developments to meet consumers’ insurance needs with the aim of generating new business for the brand
Qualifications
- B.Sc Degree or its equivalent in Insurance or related field.
- Must be an Associate member of CIIN.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience with 5 years executive management experience in the insurance sector.
Job Title: Executive Director – Technical Operations
Location: Lagos
Job Description
- We seeks to employ a result oriented professional that will lead and supervise the technical directorate (Underwriting , Claims and Reinsurance) functions of the company.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide sound underwriting philosophies and discipline across all company business lines and demonstrate technical operational effectiveness in dealing with claims in accordance with company regulations aimed at meeting customer expectations.
- Adopt appropriate pricing for all key products and risk classes so as to ensure that Company is meeting its stated strategy of underwriting to achieve profit in all products and across all distribution channels
- Create, review and implement various policies and procedures for claims
- Monitor effectiveness of all programs, provide technical support to all claim reviews and manage all payment cycle to ensure compliance.
- Spearhead all claims analysis, policy rates and reinsurance policies.
- Design and implement Reinsurance policies and processes in alignment with the industry risk management standards.
Qualification
- B.Sc or its equivalent in Insurance or related disciplines.
- Must be a member of CIIN.
- 12 years’ minimum experience with 5 years’ executive management technical experience.
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting, claims and reinsurance.
