- Monitor market prices for basic commodities
- Assist with post-distribution monitoring data collection and analysis

Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities
- To assist WASH Officer in the coordination of the WASH Technical activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets, and plans
- To assist the WASH Officer in all aspects of WASH Technical programs planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
- To assist the WASH Officer in the identification of community sanitation needs, including conducting needs assessments and contribution to technical solutions for sanitation
- To develop technical specifications and bills of quantities (BOQ) for all the sanitation activities and supervise Masons and Carpenters in charge of latrine and bathing shelters construction

- Provides technical assistance to the WASH Officer and local counterparts on issues of sanitation and solid waste management and communication strategies

Qualifications
- B.Sc or Higher diploma in Health-Related field
- Bachelor of Science, Higher Diploma in Civil or Building Engineering as a minimum
- 3 years’ experience from working with WASH Technical projects in a humanitarian/recovery context. Experience from working with social work and/or with the distribution of humanitarian assistance is an advantage.
- Previous 2-3 years’ work experience in community-based water, Sanitation programs; Work experience with an NGO is desirable
- Must have knowledge of emergency Water supply, Hygiene, Sanitation requirements, and protocols
- Familiarity with international minimum standards of Hygiene, Sanitation, and shelter service delivery (i.e., SPHERE) is an advantage
- Must have previous experience in training and Training of Trainers.
- Excellent communication skills – written and spoken – in English required.
- Fluency in one or more of the national/regional languages (Hausa, Mandara, Guduf, Gavwa and other local languages is required)
- Must be willing to work as a team member, take direction, and share technical skills with colleagues and counterparts

Duties and Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:

Specific Responsibilities:
- Pre-evaluation of needs (Targeting, Needs Assessment, Beneficiary Identification & Selection) and alert the hierarchy of any population movement in the area.
- Provide technical support and orientation to local technicians and community workers, train and develop their capacity
- Implement shelter construction activities, conduct technical assessment and approval of quality of work and ensure better management of remaining material.
- Conduct community sensitization, awareness and mobilization to encourage beneficiary commitment to the shelter activities.
- With the support of the Shelter Officer and Shelter coordinator, provide the drafts of technical drawings, Bill of Quantity, site plan and technical specification notes for shelter projects.
- Alert the Shelter Officer for any potential need of modification on construction designs or for any unpredictable soil constraints identified.
- Assist the shelter officer to accurately control movement of trucks, quantities and qualities of materials supplied to site.
- Establish local committees for shelter project
- Maintain good working relationships with local authorities, local communities, local committees and partners as well as with all stakeholders in NRC area of intervention
- Ensure the participation of female workers in key positions in the construction / rehabilitation of shelters and community infrastructures and other shelter activities
- Represent NRC in field coordination meeting when required.
Qualifications
- University Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture
- Experience on implementation of emergency shelter activities
- Experience in household sensitization and training in shelter and infrastructure maintenance
