Job Description

Scope:

  • The IT Department supports the organization’s work by providing reliable and scalable applications and infrastructure of the IRC’s offices in the US and around the world, including many technologically challenging locations. An integral component of this effort is ensuring that Country Programs have the capacity to implement and support these IT initiatives effectively across the country offices and in the field sites.
  • Reporting to the IT Manager/Coordinator the IT Officer will provide desktop support services to end users and be in charge of the office Network infrastructure configuration and management and Server system administration in the office under his purview. This also includes computers and end users applications installations, mobile devices configurations, installation and configuration of network printers and other computers peripherals and all aspects local domain Active Directory management.
  • A key aspect of this role is ensuring all technology implementations in-country conforms to the global IT policies and procedures hence working closely with Country IT and Regional IT lead is vital.
  • Position Holder serves as focal person for IRC IT operations in Mubi and Yola Offices as well as any new deep field office in Adamawa State, while based at the Mubi office.

Major Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with the Country and Regional IT lead to ensure that end users computers are setup and configured with the IRC standard Operating system and applications versions (IRC image).
  • Ensure that computers peripherals such as scanners, printers, monitors, mouse and others are configured and properly working for all field staff members.
  • Provide assistance to end users for the configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft suite products such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Deploy Local Area network infrastructure following applicable IRC Standard regarding cabling, WIFI and other active network equipment
  • Work with the Country/Regional IT Lead, the IRC Network Operations Center (NOC) and Internet Service provider to ensure that offices are connected to Internet at all times and that all users are connected to the LAN and have access to Internet.
  • Maintain up to date IT documentation reflecting current computers assets status and network configurations.
  • Work with the Country/Regional IT Lead and the IRC Network Operations Center (NOC) to deploy and maintain Servers and Country level Active Directory and domain services, including management of AD computers and users’ accounts, DNS, DHCP, centralized computers updating and patching and GPO management.
  • Work with field office IT staff and Field Coordinators to ensure timely delivery of IT project activities and resolution of IT issues
  • Ensure timely equipment maintenance, upgrade and replacement as well as management of ISP contracts and software maintenance agreements
  • Observe and uphold the IRC IT Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Act as the IT focal point for the rolling out of specific tasks as requested by the Country and/or Regional IT lead.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the lead operations coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Science and or equivalent in relevant field

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in IT Service Management
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical troubleshooting results to IT peers for seamless issue resolution
  • Experience in desktop and laptop installation and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems and Applications suite installation and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with client-server environment using Microsoft Server 2008/2016 implementing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and group policy objects
  • Experience working with Routers, LAN, WAN, VSAT
  • Familiarity in server and endpoint updating and patching methodologies
  • Good technical writing/documentation skills
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision and exercise independent judgment in problem solving.

Soft Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to work harmoniously with other staff members in cross cultural contexts.
  • Good verbal communication and report-writing skills with the ability to convey information effectively in Country official language – English would be nice to have as an additional working language.

Job Title: RH Midwife

Job Overview / Summary

  • The Midwife is a member of the health team and will be responsible for supporting the implementation of Reproductive Health activities, including the MISP (Minimum Initial Service Package for RH in Crisis Situations) according to the IRC and donor work plans.
  • She will work to ensure the improved quality of the project clinical activities e.g. family planning, maternal and neonatal care, case management of sexually transmitted diseases and the clinical management of sexual assault survivors in the IRC supported health facilities
  • The Midwife will ensure the well-being of girls and women in Monguno through the IRC supported health facilities and RH Services at community level.
  • The Midwife is responsible for the oversight and implementation of Maternal and Neonatal Care, in particular: Basic Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (BEmONC), Antenatal Care and Postnatal Care, Counselling and provision of Family Planning (including long term methods), care for sexual assault survivals are offered according to MoH Guidelines at the IRC supported health facilities is of quality standard, Post Abortion Care.

Major Responsibilities
In line with the Minimal Initial Service Package (MISP),

  • Provide the Clinical Care for Sexual Assault Survivors (CCSAS) according to national protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide the clinical care activities in the IRC RH clinical area or at the maternity.
  • Adhere to and practice use of Universal Precautions, Covid19 health facility guidance and proper waste management at all IRC supported health facilities.
  • Performs basic and assisted delivery care.
  • Performs any needed neonatal and obstetric resuscitation activity.
  • Ensures timely supported referrals to the nearest Emergency Obstetric Care center.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other midwives in assisted deliveries (by vacuum, and breech).
  • Identifies survivors of sexual assault and refers them for registration, counseling, and Clinical Care Support the RH and GBV clinic staff with technical advice and provides services in line with the MoH and/ or international best practice guidelines.
  • Monitor progress against grant work plan; promptly identifying any current or potential delays and recommending solutions to technical issues.
  • Monitor program supply inventory levels; perform monthly spot-checks on program inventory.
  • Work with and provide timely technical support to IRC’s implementing partners; maintain respectful and constructive relations with partner staff, services providers, and patients.
  • Fully comply with IRC safety and security procedures and provide input to security monitoring and assessments to enable and promote a safe and secure environment for program.

Qualifications

Preference:

Education

  • Qualified Midwife / Nurse with a Degree/Diploma/Certificate and a practicing license.

Work Experience

  • At least 1 year experience in midwifery and nursing care preferably in SRH, BEmONC and primary health care level

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Skills to communicate on sensitive RH topics, provide RH education.
  • Experience counseling survivors of abuse or violence with a reputable organization.
  • Clear understanding of gender equality and gender issues for women and girls.

Major Responsibilities

  • The IT Assistant will be primarily responsible with providing support for our internal users on the use of their desktops, laptops, and printers.  Through our ticketing system, by direct contact and the telephone. They will provide users with solutions to questions and issues with their computer hardware and software.
  • Level I Help Desk Support – Including but not limited to assistance with password resets, account creations, desktop and laptop builds and printer support
  • Level II Help Desk Support – Including but not limited to anti-virus assistance, Windows 10 support, Microsoft Office 365 support, general laptop, desktop and printer repair, and light network troubleshooting.
  • Enterprise Ticket Management – Work inside our enterprise ticketing system, Service-Now, to provide timely and transparent customer support of all requests
  • Hardware Inventory – This position will work our Global Supply Chain department in imaging, distributing and tracking all hardware; also tracking and installing all purchased software
  • Preventative Maintenance – Technician will also be responsible for checking on critical systems to ensure there are no interruptions in business continuity and take part in the monthly maintenance “blackout windows”
  • Various Projects – Position will need to assist on various IT projects as needed
