Job Title: Finance and Grant Officer
Location: Damaturu, Yobe

Summary Of Primary Duties
- Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Human Resource & Administrative and Finance Manager.
- The finance & Grant Officer will be responsible for all THSI-N financial functions and ensure they are executed in a timely and professional manner.
Essential Duties
- Maintain complete set of books of account according to the principle of accounting and update it on daily basis.
- Ensure accuracy of all supporting financial documents;
- Follow up on all financial related activities and monitor financial pipelines and expenditures, advance balances of resource disbursed, verify availability of funds for program activities and recommend for changes in budget line if needed.
- Draft/review budget for program staff
- Supervise Administrative and Finance Assistant prepare vouchers and process payments for all the financial transaction and process payment request to THSI-N office;
- Prepare and submit periodic financial reports for submission to the Executive Director.
- Provide support on financial information to program staff during preparation of quarterly reports and work plans
- Manage annual audit exercise and work with the HR & Administrative manager to prepare audit follow-up action plans, and ensure that the action plan is implemented;
- Oversee the financial and grant management of programs and implementing partners, including internal audit (if needed);
- Ensure the compliance of all the provisions of guidelines regarding procurement, sub contract and financial management;
- Manage all correspondence related to finance as guided by the supervisor
- Provide financial technical assistance to implementing partners including government agencies, NGOs and CBOs in financial management;
- Carry out any other related responsibility assigned by the supervisor
- Generate financial reports to the supervisor for review
- Managing and supporting the grants requirement and implementation for the organization
- Analyze the budget trends and make recommendations for cost control and reduction for various grants
- Maintain records of all payments and receivables and prepare monthly records for all grant related activities
- Provide training to the new staff on grants management and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- B.Sc / HND in Accounting and Finance
- At least 3 years demonstrated experience working on accounting management.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and to set priorities, strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as team and follow directions. Excellent communication and customer service skills
- English language proficiency is essential (including oral and written skills).
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and other accounting software.
Desired:
- Work experience with US Government funded programs and NGOs
- Proven work experiences in accounting multi-faceted programs
- Good knowledge in QuickBooks accounting software.

Job Title: Household Economic Strengthening Officer
Location: Enugu, Nigeria

Summary of Primary Duties
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Program Manager:
- The HES will provide technical support on HES in the capacity strengthening of Community Volunteers to provide high quality livelihood services for vulnerable households and populations.
- S/he will assist in the development of assessment tools, analysis of household vulnerability assessment results and articulation of appropriate relevant interventions to address identified gaps
- S/he will be responsible for writing reports of HES Community of Practice meetings and trainings while providing logistical and programmatic support during such activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Promote economic development among vulnerable households and populations (women, youth, young mothers and people with disabilities) based on a graduation model approach
- Ensure timely preparation of high quality training and meeting reports
- Provide high quality mentoring, support and supervision to CVs on economic strengthening
- Participate in the monthly review meeting of partners’ progress reports, identify promising practices and HES accomplishments of research significance in furtherance of 4GATES learning agenda
- S/he will maintain strong partnership with implementing CVs, government and private sector players and other relevant stakeholders in manner that reflects professionalism, mutual respect in accordance with Caritas value based behavior
- Work closely with M &E unit to ensure that Community Volunteers properly capture and report HES interventions
- Monitor progress toward targets; identify and implement approaches to overcome challenges.
- For HES and food security activities, support timely completion of required work planning, donor narrative reports, quarterly reports and performance indicator tracking tables, baseline and final evaluation reports and other reports needed/required by the local government, donors, the region or headquarters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant discipline
- A certificate in Agricultural Economics, Food Science, Public Health or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in VC programing especially in household economic strengthening with good knowledge of community-based programming and program management responsibilities. Experience working with an international NGO will be an advantage
- Technical skills and experience in household economic strengthening.
- Experience in agriculture, food technology, savings-led microfinance methodology will be an added advantage
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate training in key areas including savings-led microfinance, private-service provider models, and agro-enterprise
- Experience working with household poverty and food security assessment tools
- Demonstrated ability to support CVs working at a distance to achieve results against program objectives/targets
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
- Demonstrated experience in Nigeria VC response, VC programming principles and integrated programming approaches.
