Job Summary
- Our client is recruiting candidates to join an infra fund manager with investment interests across Nigeria.
- The Fund manager (based in Nigeria) is currently managing millions of dollars(Naira denominated) Fund and is in the process of investing capital across a variety of infra sub sector.
- We are looking for an experienced Senior Investment Officer (Deal origination) to join our team to support the accelerating investment deployment of our capital, reporting directly to the CIO .
Job Description
- To ensure proper screening of investment applications and that structured finance proposals are in strict compliance with the company’s “Viability Model” as well as Investment Strategy and Policy Framework.
- The primary responsibility is to prepare projects for lending decisions to enable acceptance into the project preparation pipeline
- Providing end-to-end support to the Head of Deals on deals origination on the origination, development, due diligence, approval and implementation process
- Developing marketing materials / pitch packs and PowerPoint presentations, review and update of market commentaries, Confidential Information Memorandum, written analyses, research, financial statement analysis
- Screening applications from head of deals origination to ensure alignment with the company’s Viability Model, investment strategy and policy framework.
- Developing structured finance models and investment instruments using historical data and providing forecasts based on various industry-related operating metrics
- Conducting Scenario Analysis based on macro and micro factors that will help in accessing risk. Applying appropriate sensitivity and scenario analysis to support investment actions
- Preparing credit applications and developing financial models for prospective deals
- Collecting and recording impact data and ensuring data integrity, in line with the company’s impact data strategy and policy
- Structuring viable transactions in line with the company’s investment and pricing policy and product parameters
- Ensuring accurate modeling of allocated portfolios and developing new transaction models and enhancing the existing models.
- Identifying key credit strengths, risks and mitigants in event-driven transactions
- Acts as point person for credit proposals and deals in market, including responding effectively to questions from Risk as well as investors
- Conducting reviews to ensure that all legal, commercial and financial matters are effectively addressed between signing and closing of any investment transaction with clients
- Support of internal and external counsel, ensure that appropriate legal documentation is efficiently and successfully concluded in line with approvals to facilitate timely financial close (i.e., first disbursement)
- Preparing and sending periodic reports on the performance of portfolio companies to the senior management
- Assisting with the development of new and innovative financing structures,
- Assisting with the preparation of documentation for the purposes of obtaining internal credit and structuring approvals,
- Undertaking extensive and detailed Financial Modelling that involves but not limited to the following:
- Fixed Income Analysis
- Financial Planning
- Research Methodology
- Quantitative Investment Analysis
- Portfolio Management
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or related field, as well as CFA or ACCA desired
- Master’s Degree in Finance or MBA, will be preferred
- 4-8 years’ post-graduate finance / banking / credit experience, largely gained within a Leveraged Finance context or professional services environment.
Salary Range
N500,000 – N800,000 monthly based on qualification and wealth of experience.
