Our client, an international school in Abuja is looking to hire a Design and Technology Teacher. The school offers an exceptional learning environment, encouraging young minds to proffer solutions to problems; training pupils with an inquisitive mind and a desire for knowledge, thereby raising disciplined and transparent future leaders.

Role Summary

The Teacher will be responsible for providing high quality teaching and learning support to students by conducting sound competency assessments in Design and Technology. He/she will help instruct students to design and make objects that have practical use, using a variety of techniques.

Responsibilities
Prepare teaching materials and lessons
Teach topics such as craft, use of tools, graphics, computer-aided design and mechanical systems
Evaluate students’ performances in an objective, fair and timely manner
Take precautions to protect institution records, equipment, materials, and facilities
Developing D&T units of work for students, according to the British curriculum
Writing students’ reports
Build students’ ability to work collaboratively with others
Establish and maintain standards of students’ behavior required to provide productive learning environment
Communicate with parents, guidance officers, principals, and students effectively
Contribute and engage in extra-curricular Design and Technology activities
Use appropriate teaching and classroom management strategies to motivate students and enable each to progress
Any other duties assigned by Head of Department

Requirements
Degree in IT, MIS, Science, Engineering or a Bachelor of Education in Design and Technology
Minimum of 4 years’ experience
Understanding and exposure to the British curriculum
Good command of written and spoken English
