Job Description

  • SPIE Oil & Gas Services Nigeria is looking for Instrument Supervisors to join her work force here in Nigeria.
  • Responsible for provision of the required quality technical support in the area of Instrumentation, Control systems, Telecommunication engineering expertise through all stages of the project.
  • Verify and review technical designs, documents and bids in accordance with approved standards and to meet Operations, Maintenance, Asset and Pipeline Integrity and HSE requirements.
  • Ensure Scope Preparation Completeness Review and hands on experience in DCS, ESD, Fire & Gas, SCADA systems, SIL ratings, SIF, Field instrumentation, Cabling, Junction Boxes, Local control panels, Field HMIs, transmitters, Detectors, Vibration probes, thermo wells, Fibre optic cables, Communication converters, Metering systems, Field panels, Control valves, Loop checks, Marshalling panels, system Cabinets, PLC cabinets, CPU IOs, Modbus, Operator consoles, PAGA system, RTU, RF, Microwave radios, switches, Servers, NTP Servers, GSM Modems etc.
  • Plan and coordinate between Operations, Maintenance and Asset Integrity teams to ensure project requirements are met and aligned.
  • Identifies potential hazards during commissioning activities, participates in technical meetings, SAT, Plant Pre-Start Up Safety Audits, Performance tests, raises punch lists and provide support to operations and maintenance teams in various stages of project activities.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Project execution departments and Operations & Maintenance teams during projects’ FEED and EPIC stages to align Operations and Maintenance, Asset Integrity and HSE requirements.
  • Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders and resolve relevant technical issues, punch lists during pre-commissioning and commissioning stages till the projects are successfully commissioned and handed over.
  • Support Lead engineer or supervisor to ensure that all applicable environmental, process and safety technical policies are fully integrated and implemented.
  • Ensure SIMOPS, Various Project Interfaces so that Shutdown Activities are properly planned for effective execution.

Missions

  • Implements and ensures implementation of SPIE QHSE Rules and values.
  • Organizes on site the maintenance operations which are placed under his responsibility
  • Assists with the planning, scheduling, preparation and execution of jobs within his discipline.
  • Manages interventions using CMMS and checks intervention report in CMMS and writes the technical reports relating to his field.
  • Monitors the functioning of utilities and equipment placed under hi responsibility.
  • Carries out N+1 requests for any interventions on equipment placed within his field of competence.
  • Takes in charge the systems under his responsibility in case of breakdown until correct operational status is achieved.
  • Identifies recurrent corrective maintenance interventions, analyses them and suggests improvements.

Profile
Candidates must have the following:

  • Required Certificate: B. Sc. /B. Eng.
  • Required Disciplines: Engineering
  • Required Course of Study: Bachelors of Engineering

Required Skills:

  • Candidate must have very strong knowledge and experience of instrumentation systems and equipment in the offshore oil and gas industry.
  • Particular experience in the use, calibration and fault finding diagnostics of nucleonic level transmitters is essential.
  • Must be able to read, decipher and update P&ID’s, Loop Drawings, Electrical Drawings and Engineering drawings.
  • Fully proficient in the use of measurement & calibration tools.
  • Fully proficient in metering technology and flow meters is a must.
  • Offshore experience working on FPSO’s is critical.

Job Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Instrument Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • 10 years of maintenance experience of which 5 years including at a supervisory position in oil and gas.
  • Hold a valid trade certificate / qualification in instrumentation and process controls
  • Be in possession of valid BOSIET.
  • Candidate must have substantial experience with SAP CMMS.
  • Candidate must be fully proficient with Microsoft Office packages, especially Word and Excel.
  • Candidate must have strong leadership qualities.
  • Candidate must be able to prioritize works relating to his field
  • Candidate must be easily adaptable to changes in planning and priorities as outlined by the client.
