Job Title: Business Development Lead (Technology and Advisory Services)
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Primary Responsibility
- Overseeing all aspect of the business development functions, including client relationship management, delivering business development sales targets, generation of new sales leads and implementation of event-related sales & marketing initiatives to drive revenues & profit within the guidelines set & followed by the company.
Specific Responsibilities
As the driving force behind generating new business and sales contacts for the company, your specific responsibilities are as follows:
- Finding and following up on new business opportunities with focus on technology services and Advisory (HR, Legal, Financial, Strategy and HR)
- Drive strategic partnerships with top organizations
- Collate prospective client(s) requirements and business data to create a business plan.
- Arranging business meetings and one-on-one conversations with prospective clients
- Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities
- Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; integrating contract requirements with business operations
- Identifying services that would appeal to new clients and increase client base
- Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select the deals in line with strategies, and lead and facilitate pitch logistics.
- Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
- Manage strategic alliances & partnerships by securing corporate/ business relationships through effective client management & analysing joint ventures/partners to identify & ensure best suited options for the business.
- Generate new client & business relationships to ensure new business & projects are identified
- Have a good understanding of the businesses’ products or services and be able to advise clients about them.
- Understand the needs of your prospective clients and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
- Evaluate prospective client’s requirements and develop business plan to meet these requirements,
- Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value propositions
- Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs.
Requirements and Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or any related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience.
- Previous experience working in a Technology Company or any company with High Sales Business Requirement
- Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed financial targets
- Excellent sales, marketing and persuasive skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills – needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as presentation skills
- Strong relationship management and leadership skills
- Excellent IT skills especially MS PowerPoint e.t.c
- Team working skills and a collaborative approach to work
- The ability to multitask and prioritize your workload
- Project management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills
- The ability to think strategically
- The ability to analyze sales figures and write reports
- Ability to make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to remain flexible, resilient, calm, maintain a sense of humor and to regularly present a well-groomed, professional image.
