General Position Summary
- The Water Engineer will organize activities related to the implementation of water infrastructure, from design to implementation, including logistics and monitoring. - Supervises all water and sanitation engineering contractors in order to effectively implement planned projects. Manages all administration and security of MC engineering activities in the assigned district. S/he will have to show full adherence to MC security protocols.

- Ensure full adherence to the MC security plans and protocols conscientiously respecting the declared ‘go and no-go’ zones ensuring that staff respects them.

Technical Leadership:
- Provide leadership, training and mentoring in the development of M&E Plans, M&E tools, survey design, methodology, data analysis, and other skills required for assessing the impact of the program.

General Position Summary
- Working in the Finance Department under the direction of the Finance and Compliance Director, the Accounting Manager will have primary responsibility for the management & effectiveness of Mercy Corps Nigeria accounting function.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Accounting Management & Team Capacity Building:
- Responsible for management and oversight and effectiveness of accounting function within Finance Department; ensures country-wide coordination, preparation and the on-time submission of the monthly reporting package to HQ and FY-end close-out process
- Oversee and coordinate timely preparation of month-end/quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Oversee the maintenance of all accounting records, ensuring that records are complete, accurate and safeguarded in compliance with MC policies and local laws.
- The lead in the accounts management, upgrades and implementation of any changes in the accounting software (Navigator Citrix System)
- Oversee daily entries into the system, identify errors and coordinate with respective team members any corrective actions; does and follows up on regular transaction review and posting within Navigator
- Monitors and reviews process and accuracy of transaction entry in all MC Nigeria offices; regularly review balance sheet accounts, coordinates corrections and reclasses with the team, review and post journal entries.
- Oversee national staff payroll processing, accruals, reconciliations, end of service and statutory deduction calculations.
- Review Potential procurement of a payroll system and offer continuous review of the payroll system.
- In charge of month-end and fiscal year-end closure / General ledger finalization & submission to HQ offices for review; main point of contact with HQ on all accounting matters

General Position Summary

Cost-Share / Match Management:

Context
- Mercy Corps is implementing the Community Initiatives to Promote Peace (CIPP) program. CIPP is a five-year, $15 million project funded by USAID and implemented by Mercy Corps in partnership with Pastoral Resolve (PARE), Interfaith Mediation Centre (IMC), Savannah Centre for Diplomacy Democracy and Development (SCDDD) and African Radio Drama Association (ARDA).
- The program is mitigating violent conflict in at-risk communities in six states of Nigeria’s NorthWest (Kaduna, Kano, and Katsina States) and North Central (Kogi, Benue and Plateau States) through an integrated, multifaceted program that:
- Empowers communities to prevent and respond to violence and violent extremism by strengthening key skills and relationships, and
- Fosters an enabling environment for peace through policy advocacy, media outreach, and linkages to development programs.
- CIPP is deliberate in its effort to advance Gender Equality, Diversity and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) in peacebuilding interventions to ensure meaningful engagement of women and inclusivity in peace processes.
Consultancy Summary
- We seek a highly motivated individual/team who believes deeply in Mercy Corps’ organizational mission and who can display a record of results and achievements, providing programs with technical guidance and support in ‘parenting for peace’, including application of positive parenting techniques in promoting peace and preventing violent extremism, preferably in the local context of Northern Nigeria.
- The primary objective of this consultancy is to develop a context specific comprehensive training of trainers manual that includes visual illustrations for use by community volunteers and other field teams.
Consultancy Outcomes:
- Designed methodologies for conducting training needs assessment, specifically to collect input of diverse stakeholders for developing a comprehensive manual
- Findings and input of the training needs assessment collected from diverse stakeholders harmonized, analyzed, and shared with CIPP team to inform the production of the manual
