Job Title: Travel Agency Manager
Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Job Summary
- We are seeking for a Travel Agency Manager with great enthusiasm for traveling.
- You will be responsible for promoting and managing the day to day activities of the Agency.
Responsibilities
- Provide Technical Back Up for the Agency in the areas of: Reservation /Ticketing and Competitive Fare Pricing Cost Effective and Convenient Itinerary and Travel Routes for Passengers.
- Management of Customer Relationships
- Maintenance of Data and Records to Facilitate: Decision Making, Performance Monitoring; and Effective Management
- Provision of Necessary Back-Up to the Accounts Function to Enhance and Facilitate: Customer Invoicing Processes
- Credit Control and Monitoring
- Processing and Collection of Refunds from Partner Airlines
- Train and supervise products selling/customer facing staff in compliance with IATA regulations.
- Supervise the efficient operations and drive performance of the assigned team in order to achieve revenue, yield and volume targets.
- Ensure team compliance with all reservation policies and procedures and standards of client service.
- Handle day-day problem resolution;
- Assign duties, responsibilities, staff roster and leave records of assigned teams.
- Coach, counsel and motivate the team, evaluate performance in a meaningful way that recognizes staff achievements and provide opportunities for skills enhancement(i.e schedule trainings, shadowing for new joiners etc)
- Handling of all BSPLink and GDS related matters (i.e ADMs, ACMs, Refunds application and Query, Issuing of tickets, Reissue, Queues, EMDs etc)
- Assist in area budgeting
- Responsible for maximizing sales/revenues for the company through the efficient and effective sale of all products and ensuring that all team members understand the business goals and targets.
- Keep self and the team up to date on product, service, policies and procedures through regular team meetings ensuring communication and understanding by team members.
- Liaise with trade partners as required.
- In a state of flight disruption, ensure liaison with all involved (guests and colleagues alike) is managed in a positive manner and that revenue and guest satisfaction requirements are maintained.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism, Travel, Hospitality or any related field.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in the travel industry.
- Certification in travel or hospitality may be advantageous.
- Knowledge of travel management processes.
- The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors of direct travel (existing relationships may be advantageous).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and business development skills.
