Job Summary

- Experience overseeing operations and being an expert communicator with a strong ability to delegate responsibilities and collaborate with all the departments.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for improving efficiency and increasing departmental profits while managing the company’s overall operations.
- The general manager should account for all business activities, support staff development, enhance efficiency, drive sales and improve revenue, maintain relationships with clients and meet overall growth objectives.
- He will be responsible to develop & execute the business plan & the achievement of key performance indicators in the areas of customer, financial, internal business processes, people & suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of logistics professionals.
- Design, develop and implement innovative logistics and distribution strategies for MNE Trans logistics to ensure the needs of customers are met within cost and timeframe.
- Plan, direct, coordinate and evaluate logistics management policies in transportation, distribution, and warehousing.
- Developing and measuring key performance indicators for the logistics, health, safety, environment, cost, on-time delivery etc.
- Develop sales & marketing efforts for a new client, develop suitable proposals for new customers.
- Set targets (covering all balanced scorecard areas) & performance evaluation of same on regular basis ensuring continual improvement.
- Motivate, Direct & Develop the team to achieve their goals & targets.
- Lead and oversee the MNE Trans logistics team.
Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or similar professional qualification. An MBA or a relevant postgraduate in Logistics.
- Minimum of 7 + years of relevant experience in a haulage company (warehousing/transportation operations, supply chain).
- Familiarity with logistics software, teams.
- Strong critical, analytical & communication skills ( A good command of English both written & spoken)
- Excellent relationship management, networking & negotiation skills
- Ability to meet strict time frames in environments with zero tolerance for failure.
- Self-confidence (particularly with client relationships).
- Working knowledge of logistics and inventory software.
- Proficiency in general office software such as Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
