Our client, a leading hospitality company located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Hotel General Manager

Job Summary

  • Our hotel manager oversees and directs the daily operations of our hotel operations and activities.
  • Duties include strategizing and planning business development activities with the aim of increasing the customer base and maximizing profit. Designing and monitoring budgets, marketing , coordinating and administering hotel services including the front office (reception, concierge, reservations), food and beverage operations and housekeeping.
  • He/she must also pay attention to the details, setting the example for staff to deliver a standard of service that meets ourguests’ needs and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and organizing accommodation, catering and other hotel services.
  • Promoting and marketing the business.
  • Managing budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure.
  • Maintaining statistical and financial records, setting and achieving sales and profit targets; analyzing sales figures and devising marketing and revenue management strategies.
  • Training and monitoring employees.
  • Planning work schedules for individuals and teams.
  • Meeting and greeting customers.
  • Dealing with customer complaints and comments.
  • Addressing problems and troubleshooting; ensuring events and conferences run smoothly.
  • Supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations and furnishings.
  • Ensuring security is effective.
  • Carrying out inspections of property and services.

Requirements
Candidates must:

  • Have a good Degree (Qualification in Hotel Management is a plus)
  • Have extensive hotel management experience and 3-5 years relevant cognate experience in a similar role.
  • Have an impressive corporate personality with strong management skills and a keen eye for details.
  • Have a clear understanding of all hotel management best practices and relevant laws and guidelines.
  • Have working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Display excellent customer service skills as well as a business mindset.
  • Demonstrable aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Be reliable with an ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Display outstanding leadership skills and a great attention to detail.
  • Be able to use hotel management software.
  • Display strong leadership qualities.
  • Business and people management skills are equally important elements
  • Prior experience in Hotel, Restaurant and Bar Management is an added advantage.
