Job Summary
- The Human Resource Manager is responsible for coordinating all administrative activities related to an organization’s personnel. He/She will lead and direct the routine function of the Human resources department including the:
- Development of recruitment strategies, implementing systems for managing staff benefits, leave, payroll and compensation, Management of staff behavior, onboarding new employees, performance management, training & development, talent management, enforcing company policies and practices by ensuring full compliance with all relevant local laws/regulations and procedures and effectively manage HR risks within the organization.
- Provision of support to the management team on employee relations and provide advice in line with HR best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with the Leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention and succession planning.
- Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing and hiring of staff particularly for managerial and professional roles.
- Collaborate with leadership/departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for a job opening. Develop the recruitment process flow timely; from identification of a vacancy to the filling of that vacancy.
- Advise the leadership team on relevant tools to support the effective delivery of HR services and processes within the organization.
- Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities.
- Support the coordination and/or conducting training workshops to support field offices on relevant topics such topics as; supervisory skills, performance assessments, effective interviewing, etc.
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state and federal employment laws and regulation and recommended best practices.
- Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution.
- Supervise the filing and documentation of HR Processes including recruitment and exit documents, trainings and certifications etc.
- Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law and advise management accordingly.
- Advice the management team on leadership and HR issues including application of HR policies and processes, restructuring, training, people management, career development and handling complex employee issues.
- Manage HR staff to ensure a high level of competence, customer service and confidentiality is maintained.
- Apply professional HR practices and regulations to existing and new programs.
- Support new and existing programs with HR metrics and analysis.
- Study and analyze market and data trends and use generated information to formulate, implement, document, and evaluate processes, systems or programs.
- Ensure day-to-day operations of HR-related functions are addressed in a timely, efficient, and proactive manner.
- Provide regular briefings to leadership on HR matters, including the status of recruitment, training, leave balances, etc.
- Provide technical assistance and monitoring to the HR team in the administration of their HR functions.
- Provide specialist employee relations advice and guidance with particular respect to disciplinary, grievance and absence, to ensure acceptable levels of individual employee performance.
- Support the effective implementation of all employee welfare schemes including the Staff Group Life Assurance Scheme, the Health Insurance scheme and the Pension scheme.
- Liaise closely with benefits and pension administrators on behalf of management.
- Contribute to the development and editing of HR policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences or its recognized equivalent with 7 – 9 years of relevant experience Or M.S / MA Degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences or its recognized equivalent, and 5 – 7 years relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of human resource management experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required.
- Certified member of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of related body is an advantage.
